About Sunward (new songs up waiting for the new album)
Sunward were born in 2000 with a potential emo-hardcore sound in the stream of bands like Get up kids and Midtown. The first self-produced demo testified this trend, coming out in 2003 with the title of “After all”.
During the last three years the band switched to a post-hardcore fashion, under the influences of great punk mosters of such a recent past: Refused, and At the drive-in.
This has been the time for new recording sessions, resulting in a second demo entitled “While the sun burns”.
Meanwhile, Sunward emerged as a respectable brand new entity on the italian underground horizon, taking part at several national contests, and sharing stages and attitudes with bands like Derozer, Minnies, Friday star, and so on.
The year 2006 started with two new entry in the line-up. Pippo (Nitrojuice’s former drummer) joined the project, giving his fundamental contribute and his deep knowledge. Furthermore, Pierre satisfied the band’s desire of embedding electronic elements into that well-trained solid rock and roll mass.
The band is currently working on new materials coming out soon.
