Sunyata is a sanskrit word which may be translated as interconnectedness and relativity. It is the belief that no thing exists independent of anything else. We see Jazz as an expression of sunyata; each musician creates sound based on what he or she hears other musicians playing. The music happens in an instant and can not be predetermined or changed. The Sunyata Jazz Quartet has been writing, performing, and recording in the Boston area since January, 2006. They play monthly gigs at The Kirkland Cafe on Washington St. in Somerville, MA and perform throughout the Cambridge/Boston area as well. Their first CD, "Make Some Noise" will be available in select stores in July, 2006, and available by contacting us at sunyatajazz@gmail.com Check the schedule for upcoming performances.
