FAMILY, music, (those two most often go together~) sunny days, hanging out with friends, going to Giant's games and eating bratwurst and beer, fine dining, fashion, going to the beach and trying to surf or just layin' in the sun while I read, seeing live music, kettle sodas w/ a lemon and a lime, museums, hanging out w/ my 4 brothers and squeezing their noses, spending time w/ my older sister & her husband at their Napa Valley house, playing with my 3 y/o neice ~ she is so cute i wanna eat her! , swimming, friendly competition, musical theatre, as a viewer & a contender, speaking in different accents just cuz, pop culture, having "jam sesssions" w/ my friends and bros that play guitar, cooking, fresh herbs, cleverness, inside jokes, being silly, listening to Howard Stern in the mornings, street festivals, people watching, straight shooters, devouring books, metaphysics, whistling, seeing a great movie that makes me laugh or cry, racing go-karts, going to the firing range, driving range, (i suck kinda, but it's fun..) being cozy, smelling clean laundry, lip balm, tiger balm, candles, flip-flops, ..twirling my hair (bad habit, but it feels so soft..) cutting hair, (not mine...others...) bumble & bumble products...they're the bestest...
Music
When I was little, my older brother used to make me these tapes with music that he loved and respected on them. For instance "THIS IS LED ZEPPLIN" "THIS IS REGGAE MUSIC" "THIS IS THE WHO". I grew up knowing and loving all kinds of music, and with a great love of singing. Some of my favorite memories are sitting around with friends or family with guitars, various music books, and our voices and instruments...Good times....I love The Beatles, Beastie Boys, Air, Radiohead, Neil Young, Nina Simone, Old School Hip hop (tribe called quest, digable, de la soul, pharcyde, the roots, black sheep, eazy e, method man-tical-cypress hill), Teaches of Peaches, Aimee Mann, Dislexic Speedreaders, Zero 7, Simon and Garfunkel, Madonna, Mamas & the Papas, Dee-Lite, Carole King, Patsy Cline, Heart, The Carpenters, Deep Forrest, Donovan, Bread, Hall and Oates, Duran Duran, The Violent Femmes, Peter Bjorn & John, Sia, Jefforson Airplane, Keane, My Morning Jacket, Stevie Wonder, Maxi Priest, Guru, Sinatra, Dance hall reggae (supercat, shaba nardo louie and cutty ranks, papasan, pato bantan, steel pulse), Sade, Pink Floyd, Frou Frou, Fiona Apple, Led Zepplin, The Doors, The Smiths, The Cure, Billie Holiday, The Who, The Shins, Steely Dan, Fleetwood Mac, show tunes, all the old 80's new wave shite, jazzy bluesy music, 60's Motown music, My best friend Melessa Jean's beautiful songs, my little bro Jonathan's band Noravenue, I love it all except for both hard core metal and techno, and the cheezy boy band type shit...although i did like Justn Timberlake's album....but he wasn't in a boy band anymore...
Movies
I enjoy my films....Alot. I Love all the Paul Thomas Anderson movies....Boogie Nights, Magnolia, Punch Drunk Love, Hard Eight....Speaking of Anderson's, gotta love the Wes Anderson movies..Rushmoore, Bottle Rockets, The Royal Tannenbaums....Other favorites are A Bronx Tale, Buffalo 66, High Fidelity, When Harry Met Sally, You Can Count on Me, Shawshank Redemption, My Life Without Me, House of Yes, Secretary, So I Married an Axe-Murderer, There's Somethiing About Mary, Being John Malcovich, Twin Peaks Fire Walk w/ Me, Office Space, Princess Bride, Election, Crooklyn, Welcome to the Dollhouse, Stand By Me, Big, The Sandlot, Happiness, Donnie Darko, Friends w/ Money, Flirting w/ Disaster, The Big Lebowsky, A Christmas Story, Slingblade, The Virgin Suicides, Closer, Garden State, Raging Bull, Forrest Gump, Edward Scissorhands, Defending Your Life, Moonstruck, Valley Girl, Mr. Holland's Opus, Sideways, Napolean Dynamite, of course, and then all the Owen/Luke Wilson, Vince Vaughn, Ben Stiller, Will Farrell recent ones...hilarious....Oh, also the mocumentries like Best in Show, Waiting for Guffman, etc..I also love the old Disney movies lke Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, Jungle Book, I know all the songs, and luv them all......Classic.
Television
When I watch T.V, it's almost always something super
clever and witty or major human condition
action goin on....Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiam,
Family Guy, Arrested Development, Sex and the City,
Entourage, Six Feet Under, Deadwood, Sopranos, Big Love,
And let's not forget old favorites like The Wonder
Years, or My So-Called Life...I love it when
movies or shows are narrated...I also can't
get enough of The Food Network, and I can't
figure out if it's because I love to cook,
(and I do!) or, I love to eat, (and I do!!)
OR because Rachel Ray has a BIG ASS
BUBBLE BUTT and I can't stop staring at it
everytime she walks over to the fridge to bend
over and get someting out of the lower freezer,
or to lean down to put something in the extremeley low broiler....
Hmmm...
Books
I read a book about every two weeks or so, and kinda have since I was in the third grade, so, for me to list off my favorite authors and titles and such is alot harder than having to narrow down the music selection....With that being said, I'm reading "Ham on Rye" by Charles Bukowski right now, (Bukowski is my new obsession...just saw his documentary, "Born Into This"...what a character to say the least..), and before that was "The Magus" by JohnFowles, and the last one prior was "Kitchen Confidential", by Anthony Bourdin,(that guy is smoooth...) and before that was "The Unbearable Lightness of Being", by Milan Kundera, and the one before that was, "My friend Leonard", (yaa, the "million little pieces guy...don't be a playa hata, it was a great read...both of them...) and prior to that was "The Time Traveler's Wife", written by Audrey Niffenegger, (she writes from both female & male 1st person, and it is a strange, yet sweet love story...but, not a chick book...) and then, before that it was "Running with Scissors" by Augusten Burroughs", (this guy is such a witty writer...I recommend listening to ANYTHING that he has coming out of his mouth, mind, and fingers...) and so on, and so on, and so on...
...

all right.... i know why you like listening to Howard Stern, now.... at a friend's earlier [who can't enough Stern], i was givin' him a hand and realized, "hmmm.... the way that everyone prattles on in the show is almost like how they do on Seinfeld ~ but it's on radio and it's uncensored!" just thought you might find that interesting is all...;)

Hey Kim, I was actually trying to send a message to Ali and I know you myspace often so I figured you could relay. Anyways, STEIN!!!!!!!!Cuba is pretty sick, Shiana and Kalila and I have been getting along really well. The men here are totally shoal, as is the food, but its kinda surreal to be in F'in Cuba! We've gone out dancin, horseback ridin (jealous?) and to the beach. Havana was a'ight but the countryside is definetly where its at. I miss you tons and I think Im comin home on Tuesday around 8 or 9. Mindy Munns was here for the first few days but she had to go home to work. She was totally fun! I miss American food, pillows and english but this was still great. I cant wait to see you and Ill definetly call you as soon as I can. Love you tons! Heidi
