Fill it with fairy lights and polite middle class chaps and ladies (the sort who stand in front of you but ask if you can still see and shuffle appropriately). Stick on some rather spiffing experimental-indie-electronica bands, and punctuate with DJing of obscure and brilliant indie tunage.
...It's the difference between someone half-arsedly shoving a few bands on, and someone making an effort to put on bands that they like, and actually promoting it to people who would enjoy it, thus infusing the night with their own personality, and therefore more than the sum of its parts. This kind of gig should be encouraged - £2 in, £4 on the train, reasonably priced drinks, easy as pie. Nice. And a stupid number of kebab shops and the like on the way to the last train back. What more could you want? "
We are Superconnected, a new monthly gig night based at The Jug & Jester in Leamington Spa. We put on bands that we want to see because we think you'll like them too.
There is currently a search for two types of bands for record label consideration.
*** Note: PLEASE IDENTIFY IF YOU ARE IN GROUP 1 OR 2 IN THE SUBJECT LINE OF YOUR RESPONSE. Emails are being reviewed by different representatives.
1. A Pop/Rock/Commercial band with female lead. Band must consist of 2 guitars (Prefer both guitar players to be of lead caliber. However, one lead and one rhythm is acceptable), keyboard/piano, bass, and drums. Lead vocal, followed by backing vocals, in that order, is a plus as it relates to other members of the group. Average age of the band cannot exceed 28 years of age.
* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist. ** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong. *** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.
2. A Modern Rock band with male lead. Must be a complete band but there are no prerequisites as it relates to the make up of the band. Average age of the band cannot exceed 23 years of age.
* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist. ** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong. *** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.

Today is known as Oak Apple Day, anyone caught not wearing an oak leaf or oak apple will be pinched, kicked, or otherwise abused. Whipping with nettles is also a favourite punishment, some people even call this day Nettle Day. Go forth and abuse your friends.
