There were talks that teams like Andorra should not be in this competition. I disagree. I think that if a nation has a team then they have a right to play. It also give teams the chance to display their countries ability. This game was like a friendly for England. It did get England scoring goals, which is always good to see.

Cappello picked a side that seemed like it could be close to his ideal line up. Since Glen Johnson has won the right back position he has done quite well. Even though my first choice for that position would have been Micah Richards, Johnson has played well enough to hold his place there. He played so well that he deservedly won man of the match. He provided some good crosses that led to goals, and was involved with another.

Goals came from Rooney (2) Defoe (2) Lampard (1) Crouch (1).

Rooney was on fine form and made a good contribution before he was rested in the second half. If he stayed on he probably would have got at least 2 more goals and won man of the match. Defoe came on and popped up at the right places to knock in 2. Lampard had a good game and hit the target. Crouch pounced on the ball and tipped it in the goal while the Andorran defence and keeper were indecisive.

It was a comfortable victory with the England keeper having to do next to nothing all game as the Andorran side played mainly in their own half for most of the match.

It was a good win for England. More points in the bag. It is looking like we will make it to a major football tournament once again. We need about 3 more points and we are on our way to the World Cup in 2010.

Well done England. You did what you had to do on the day. Lets see more goals in the next match.
