Sounds Like
The wind through rushes on a placid lakeside, birds in the trees singing in 4-part harmony to the lilting melody of Pan's own making...
Through the muddled mind of a bloke at the end of his 21st birthday party.
Supergeneric was formed in 2007 with a vision to create a sound featuring of old school rock and modern melody. Over the last year and more S.G has been gigging at venues all around Brisbane and NSW such as Ric's Bar, Kitty O'Shea's, Music Kafe, Hoey Moey, Metro Arts and lots lots more... Supergeneric has been passionately producing over 30 originals songs in the last few years and with their first album (Toes in the Sand) being released mid 2009. You can keep in contact with supergeneric by joining their Supergeneric Superfriends face book page, www.myspace.com/supergenericband, Twitter.com or www.triplejununearthed.com/supergeneric
Once upon a time there was a purple cloud, floating in the unknown space of the then unformed universe. The cloud was searching, seeking for a place to evaporate it's rambling muse. There was no life, no place to contain or restrict it's rambling muse, thus unformed thoughts would converge on unformed abstracts which reeled against the imposition of conceptual order when none could exist.
As it happened, the cloud took a nap ...
It awoke in a bottle surrounded by a billion other coloured clouds, each in their own bottle, a sign on the door said something about a muffin factory, and a strangely garbed creature made music with his fingers on a magical device.
Every now and then, the strange creature would dip a long finger into the bottle, swizzle it about and then extract some ichor on his fingernail. He would suck it off and then make it into more music.
The purple cloud found joy in providing vehicle for the creature's creativity.
Then, sometime later, the cloud forgotten by the world, the creature long dead and the coloured clouds released from their bottles, a new muse called out.
So then a band formed - Supergeneric.
But the band wasn't entirely complete!
So far it was just an ethereal wafting, something not unlike a wisp of fog on a dark night, starlight reflected in it's evanescence.
The idea visited itself on the mind of a group of pixies, flitting as they were through the shrubbery of a suburban landscape. They accepted the muse and took on the idea, singing in their pixie voices through the dark night. Upon the wind they were borne into the hearts and minds of those who would one day become the band.
Triplickit @ The Springwood Hotel on November 21 supported by super funky Brissie band "The Handlerbars" and the ever sultry "Husky" from Melbourne. It kicks off at 9pm - entry is free and the music is sweet so don't miss it.
Hi supergeneric, we wanted all of our Myspace friends to know that Glenn Hughes Tickets are now on sale & selling fast. No major advertising has started yet so this is just a courtesy heads up to fans so they dont miss out... There are only 3 OZ shows in total & it could be an early sell out!
Some fans have also asked if they can meet Glenn, so we are thinking about Platinum Tix for an after show meet & greet. Please send us a msg via Myspace if you think you would be interested.
Have a great day & hope to see you at a gig in April! GH & Band.
I am super happy and very excited (not to mention somewhat exhausted on occassion) she is just so adorable!!! Thanks for the congrats! hope all is well
Hello. I just realised after reading the 'about me' section, that my whole colour selection is based around purple lol! The only colours I have been using on all the guitars are red, blue and purple, and black and white, but they aren't actually colours =] Yeah, so I thought that was kinda cool lol. But it's late, so I must go to bed. Goodnight! x
