Supermassive is a completely self-contained machine featuring four musicians, an ungodly inventory of stompboxes, three miles of tangled cords and the ability to produce stylized, accessible songs enhanced by an undertone of deviant and fiery improvisation. Through endless days battling gray skies in Seattle, WA, longtime cohorts and local heavyweights, E$ (vocalist and session drummer), and King Lael (guitarist) continued shaping and fine-tuning their sound. With the addition of keyboardist and production guru C Minus along with bassist and sonic anchor, D*Low, the lineup was set in motion. The Supermassive sound features compact arrangements layered with plentiful hooks, old school tones and atmospheric soundscapes. Filthy beats and nasty low end round out a substantial foundation for soulful, often light-hearted vocals. With an ability to morph an infectious, vocal-driven song into an epic instrumental odyssey, Supermassive is the proverbial full meal deal. Delicious indeed.
