Well, it's been a coupla years since I've revamped this profile, and in that time things have changed. Mostly for the better, although there have been a few bitter-sweet moments. Insidious Reflections, an authoritative voice for the indie horror press that gave me the stage I needed to build upon my writing ambitions, has since closed its doors. In its place stands Insidious Publication, a small press of quality hand made chapbooks and comics that the horror genre is lucky to have. Feel free to visit them at: www.insidiouspublications.com. I've also come to the horrific realization that my twenties are now in the past. A little sad as it's time to grow up, but that’s okay. I’m cool with all that. Jack Ketchum assures me that my thirties will be "fucking great" and so far I tend to believe him. Since IR no longer exists as a place for me to run wicked on my imagination, I've since had interviews, articles and reviews published in such places as the IR website, The Hackers Source magazine - coming soon - Rue Morgue magazine, this very blog, with many more on the way including such venues as Dark Recesses Publication, The Horror Library and Dark Scribe Magazine. I am a journalist in dark culture entertainment and if you happen to be an author, film maker, artist or other form of dark creationist, feel free to drop me a line at richard_insidiuous@rogers.com and perhaps I can be your dark scribe and voice in the horror world, too. Current projects include several reviews and interviews, mostly scheduled for landing at my friend Greg Lamberson’s soon to be launched website. Details to come soon. I’m also in the midst of some big things concerning Jack Ketchum’s The Girl Next Door movie adaptation. I’m writing a definitive article for the film’s official webpage along with a few other things up my sleeve that would mean certain death to disclose them right now. You’ll know in relatively short time though. When I have the time, there are several short stories and novella length pieces that scream my name. I like the way they sound but prefer a time when their screams become mere whispers to seduce the minds of the public masses. I also enjoy good company, fine coffees of African blend, and long walks through the dead grounds of tombstone jungle beneath a cold autumn moon. But hey, who doesn't, right? And please, no SPAM people! I hope writing that doesn't draw them in... Thanks for exploring MySpace. See you on the other side.
Also brought to you by A.D.D. Films, is this damn good reason why drugs are bad, mmmmmkay?

Note: I am pimpin' my new chapbook, Marquee (released a couple days ago). If interested go to Marquee Ready for Release (makes sense) in my blog and read/click the link. Heck, go to my blog anyway.
Here's what people are saying about my novella, Monkey Love:
"John Paul Allen delivers well-drawn characters and emotional dynamite in this tale of dark suspense" - Scott Nicholson, author of They Hunger.
"One sadistic piece of work by one of the most talented new voices in dark fiction." - Karen Koehler, author of the Slayer series.
"Disturbing and intense, this story is a one-sit read that races, carrying you along to grim, uncharted terrain." - Lee Thomas, Bram Stoker Award-Winning author of Stained, Parish Damned and The Dust of Wonderland.
"From the first page, Monkey Love draws you into a surreal world that teeters on a disturbing balance of madness, eroticism, and obsession." David Niall Wilson, author of Deep Blue and Ancient Eyes.
"It's a wild ride, and I loved it from first page to last." - John R. Little, author of The Memory Tree and Placeholders.
"Exquisitely well-written, more than slightly twisted and compelling erotica for all horror readers." T.M. Wright, author of the forthcoming Bone Soup and Blue Canoe.
"Monkey Love is my first read by John Paul Allen and I can promise it won't be the last. Touching, peverse, oddly poignant and riddled with interesting questions about the nature of love and obsession, I can't recommend it enough. Monkey Love is the sort of tale that pushes the boundaries of comfortable and makes us question our own morals." - James A. Moore, author of Deeper and Blood Red.

Hi How are you ? Thank you so much for the support, welcome to the twisted fairytale world of Robert Wolfshead Art. Please do enjoy your stay. A wonderful page you have here, I look forward to speaking to you soon, I hope you are having a great day. Love Nocta xx
Yup, actually I'm plugging two books and if it means anything to you neither is mine. OK, I'm connected to each (as you'll see if you visit the link below), but I'm not asking you to buy my novella. I do that enough and I think it's time to give attention to the other guys.
I'd like to draw your attention to the following -
Midlisters by Kealan Patrick Burke http://www.bitingdogpress.com/Bitingdogpub/midlisters.htm
AND
Disposal by Jeff Strand http://www.bitingdogpress.com/Bitingdogpub/disposal.htm
Both books are signed limited editions and worth your time and bucks.
If you're a collector (or a potential collector) they are offering a deal where you can get all three books in the set for 25% off. http://www.bitingdogpress.com/Bitingdogpub/purchasenovellas.htm That would mean getting my novella for almost nothing, but as I said I'm not trying to push mine here so if you're looking for one book I suggest either Midlisters or Disposal. I've read them both and I think you'll be quite pleased.
Note 1: Feel free not to post or allow this into your comment section. As long as you read it that's all that matters.
Note 2: Special note to Canadians. Shipping is free to you.
Note: I'm sending this to all my friends on Myspace. Feel free not to post it on your comments. I know it irritates some when I plug my work and I understand. As long as you got a chance to see the video I'm happy.
Thank you for adding the Steve Harris MS page to your list of friends. If you have a spare few minutes, pop over to the page and download Steve's free book, The Switch. Deemed too nasty to be published.
