About me:
Supernight is a DIY music/art orgy that's filled with all things loud and colourful. With a 'no style' music policy that encompasses everything from Johnny Cash to Lady Sovereign and regular collaborations with the best local VJ's, animators and visual artists, Supernight is one of the best parties in Nottingham. There's always excellent live music from the nation's newest, freshest acts as well as a whole host of other things going off, from Artzine launches to live music film parties.

Previously Supernight has featured work from artists such as Jon Burgerman, David Shrigley, Jason Allsebrook, Design Against Drab, Dan Toporowski and Lewis Heriz as well as live music from the likes of Late of the Pier, Fists, SJ Esau, We Show Up On Radar, Johnny Foreigner, Petebox, Napoleon IIIrd, Milburn, Plans & Apologies and Fonda 500 and all for as little as �3!

If you want to get your finger on the pulse of Nottingham's music/art underground then make sure you catch the multifarious frolics of Supernight at various venues in Nottingham. You won't be disappointed.

Music Transfer Protocol	Aug 21 2008 12:45 AM Les Sons du Nord returns to the UK! An exchange programme of sorts between Northern France, Belgium and Sheffield established since 2006. The event takes over the excellent Shakespeare pub, Gibraltar Street, Sheffield, from the 28th - 30th August. Expect top bands, amazing sausages and nice booze. Sheffield is represented by Nat Johnson, Champion Kickboxer, the Yell, Yo-Yo Static and Rotary Ten whilst Curry & Coco, Frank Shinobi, Soy un Cabalo and the Appleseeds cross the channel.

Forest of Sound	Mar 17 2008 3:33 PM Golden Diskó Ship combines a mass of instruments and found objects (guitars, viola, glockenspiel, sticky tape, compact disc cases, toys…) together with perfectly crafted laptop electronica to form a world of beautiful, original and individual music - “…dreamy, experimental folk electronica that sounds like walking on the beach with the sun in your eyes." The Declining Winter is the musical project of Richard Vincent Adams of Leeds UK, the co-founder of the continuing group Hood and a full time stricken office worker. What does it sound like? Richard says "cassette tapes spilling out of the glovebox of a 1970's Datsun Sunny somewhere in the north of England, captured on Super 8 film". He's not far off. Live he is joined by a few more people to bring the beautiful pastoral feel to life. Wonderful stuff. Hands and Fingers makes minimally gorgeous cerebral music. He mixes samples, acoustic guitars, glockenspiel and ambient atmospheres with drum breaks that have been described as "Tortoise having a fight with Four Tet in the dark, with John Bonham trying to split them up".
