The live electronic/jazz/house/breakbeat project PARASIT was initiated at the Schmollmund Sessions in Stuttgart where musicians play live electronic music – improvised, open and jazzy.
PARASIT are Hanfreich (Stuttgart, Lab Records) on groovebox, electric cello, Repeater and Juno, and Roland Reinke on electric guitar, Glissentar (acoustic 11-string fretless guitar), effects and electronics. Guest musicians join the two PARASIT members for concerts.
PARASIT’s repertoire ranges from ambient moods and spacey click grooves, to house and drum’n’bass. They played to an enthusiastic audience including venues/events such as "Kunst im öffentlichen Raum/Ortstermine", Munich, the Stuttgart Tearoom, Rosi’s (Berlin) and Nektar and Kranhalle (Munich).
All tracks are live recordings with no overdubs. In addition to Hanfreich and Roland Reinke aka encym, they feature several guest musicians that so far have included Zbikbeat, Carsten Netz, Peter Hops, Andreas Kellner, Krili Huf, Jinny, Fabian Wendt and Wolfgang Schmid.
