Team Built Songs is an exciting and challenging approach to team building exercises. The objective of the day is to write a song to an industry-standard level, creating meaningful lyrics and memorable melodies, and deliver lead and backing vocals to a polished and contemporary production. Whether the theme of the song is motivational, company/business based or purely a love song is one of the first decisions the team will make.
As with most creative endeavours, too many cooks may spoil the broth so the workshops have been designed for up to four people. The benefits of small, dynamic and intimate teams, working together in a focused team inevitably produce the best and most beneficial results. For larger companies or groups, a series of days in the form of a competition can be organised.
Importantly, no previous music or writing experience is necessary!

Who runs Team Built Songs?
Team Built Songs is run by Barnaby Pinny, an internationally released songwriter and record producer with Top 10 chart success in the UK, US and Japan. Barnaby’s songs and productions have been aired across the worldwide television networks and his songs have been performed live to hundreds of thousands of people at venues ranging from The Chicago Bear’s Stadium to 5ive’s UK arena tour.
As an experienced vocal coach and producer, Barnaby has a wealth of experience in bringing the very best out of performers of every level, drawing hidden talent from those willing to enter the vocal booth.
Where will we team build a song?
‘Neume Studio’ is the private studio of Team Built Songs’ Barnaby Pinny. It is a state-of-the-art, digital facility, beautifully designed to be a highly creative and inspirational environment.
Situated in Olney, Buckinghamshire, in a converted barn, the studio has been acoustically designed and treated and is fully soundproofed from the outside world. Existing as three rooms within a room with an isolated floating floor, walls and ceiling structure the studio is comprised of a control room, live room and recreation room.
Why team build a song?
Songwriting encapsulates many different disciplines. By working in a small, intimate team, each participant is constantly challenged, throughout the event, to contribute, liaise, listen and share ideas. Even though songwriting is an ancient art form, it is one of those disciplines that few people dare to tackle alone and rarely get the opportunity to be involved in (even though it is a secret desire of many to have achieved once in their lifetime).

How exactly do we team build a song?
Starting by selecting one of the many top quality, original backing tracks offered, the team, with help from Barnaby, will take up the challenge of writing lyrics, creating a melody and then recording the vocal tracks so that each member of the team leaves the session with a CD of the day’s outcome and a great sense of achievement.

This is a creative day in an environment usually reserved exclusively for signed artists with record company funding.
