Supershade is a Copenhagen based rock band that combines the straight baselines and riffs from basic Rock n’ roll and at the same time applies layers and texture to produce significant depth and heaviness to the tunes.
It’s been vital for Supershade to write songs with vocal melodies, as well as focusing on vocal harmonies. Supershade does not set themselves apart form their inheritage, but are embracing the influence of acts like Queens of the stone age, Alice In Chains and Soundgarden, while they at the same time are digging out their own platform for musical creativity.
The lyrics evolve around personal emotions and experiences, adding to the dark atmosphere in the songs. The band came together through common interest in heavy down tuned rock music. Lasse (Guitar/producer) and Henrik (Drums) spend several years recording and playing in ”In spite of me”, as well as Mikkel (Vox/Guitar) who spend 5 years with ”Bobby Peru”. Lasse and Mikkel met up, when Lasse produced Bobby Perus latest demos. Eventually either part found that their respective bands wasn’t getting anywhere, and decided to get together to start off the project that became Supershade. Through autumn 2007 Supershade worked on several ideas, demoing and listening, trying to capture and create songs from the energy of fresh not too reworked material. In spring of 2008 the band started recording their debut 5 track EP in Tonekontrol Studio. The band always worked as a unit, exchanging and discussing ideas as equal songwriters. .
