Born and raised in the Funk Cradle of the World, the Southern Ohio Valley, SuperT could not help but be influenced by his surroundings. With groups like the Isley Brothers, Slave, Roger Troutman, Zapp, The Whispers, Confunction, The Dazz Band, Midnight Star, Mr. James Brown, Bootsy Collins, The Ohio Players all from the Ohio Valley, just to name a few, these groups laid the groove and funk blueprint for SuperT. SuperT learned to appreciate the "True Masters" of the Jazz Genre at the barber shop. During the 70's SuperT was also influence by the Jazz Fusion movement which combined elements of Jazz, Funk, R&B and Rock. Groups like The Head Hunters, Jeff Lorber Fusion, Chick Chorea's Electric Band, and Jean-Luc Ponty. Gospel music shaped SuperT's musical sensibilities. The most important influences would be Commissioned and Fred Hammond. Fred Hammond with his Ken Smith basses moved SuperT to the core and his love affair with the Bass Guitar began. Playing Blues, R&B, HipHop, Reggae, and Smooth Jazz. SuperT is currently laying down phat grooves on his Lakland Basses and Yamaha keyboards...
