TEMA literally translates to "THEME" in the English language. But to be more precise, it would be something like "COOL," "INTERESTING," and "WONDERFUL."
TEMA's producer (Maugly Jr.) explains why he named the group "TEMA" in a quote: "We named the group "TEMA" because we want to surprise the listener..." The group has existed since May, of 2004. The lineup has changed a few times. For the sake of space, we'll just focus on the current TEMA.
In the summer of 2008, Maugly Jr. met Anya Zubko. A young girl originally from Uzbekistan, but then moved to Ukraine. She lives in Moscow now, and is the current singer of the TEMA project. Anya was born on December 1st. She is majoring in Accounting at Moscow's KT University. Anya likes to bowl, and play billiards. She likes to listen to popular Russian music, as well as popular music from the west... she also enjoys reading.
Anya's vocals couldn't be better. In fact, the press has already commented about how great her vocals are. They have even gone as far as saying her vocals are by far the best of all the past TEMA girls! Anya's debut song "Bei ili Begi 2008" (a new version of the past song) was released on September 28th, 2008. Anya's second song "American Brothers" was released on October 27th, 2008. The song also featured a controversial video made by Maugly Jr. The video received a great debut on YouTube, where it was featured as one of the most played videos of the day, and Top Rated as well!
TEMA has always been a duet-project. So, we're currently looking for TEMA's second singer! We're casting girls from the Moscow area to be a part of our pop-project. If you are interested, please contact us by going to our official website.
