The summer of 1973 found Rick Davies (07/22/44) and Roger Hodgson (03/21/50) in a dilemma. Rick a keyboard player from a Swindon, England working class family, had spent the last four years with his partner, Roger, an English public scho ol boy from Portsmouth, trying to find the right musical combination for their group, Supertramp. After two albums, recorded with two different line-ups, Supertramp and Indelibly Stamped, the pair of songwriters had achieved critical acclaim but no commercial success. Their dilemma should they call it quits or give it one more try? Deciding the latter, Rick and Roger began what seemed to be an endless stream of auditions. Enter bassist D ougie Thomson (03/24/51), a hardy Scotsman from Glasgow, who had played with the Alan Bown Set; John Anthony Helliwell (02/15/45) of Todmorden, Yorkshire, a veteran saxophonist of various jazz and dance bands, as well as the Alan Bown Set; and Bob Siebenberg (10/31/49), a Glendale, California drummer who had been playing pub rock with Bees Make Honey. Feeling that the right combination had been found at last, the new Supertramp looked forward to assaulting the world with it..rquote s music.
In 1983, Roger Hodgson let the band and started a career as soloist.
More later in the end of the 80..s, Dougie Thomson also let the band.
In 1997, Supertramp come back again to the music world with three original members ( Rick Davies, John Helliwell and Bob Siebenberg) and a new band with more members.
FAVOURITE SONGS: "Paperback Writer" by The Beatles, "Angel" by Sarah McLachlan, "Addicted To Love" by Robert Palmer, "So You Want To Be A Rock 'N' Roll Star" by The Byrds, "Africa" by Toto, "Summer In The City" by The Lovin' Spoonful, "Purple Haze" by Jimi Hendrix, "Running Up That Hill" by Kate Bush, "Brothers In Arms" by Dire Straits and "Into The Great Wide Open" by Tom Petty.
Roger Hodgson is one of the most loved songwriters of our time. As the legendary voice of Supertramp and composer of the band’s greatest hits, he gave us "Give a Little Bit," "The Logical song", "Dreamer", "Take the Long Way Home", "Breakfast In America", "It’s Raining Again", "School", "Fools Overture" and so many others. His songs have remarkably stood the test of time and earned Roger and Supertramp an adoring world-wide following.
During the time that Roger led the band, Supertramp sold well over 50 million albums. In Canada alone, sales for "Crime of the Century" and "Breakfast in America" reached Diamond status. That meant one in twenty Canadians owned both albums.
Born in Portsmouth, England, Roger spent much of his childhood at boarding school where his guitar became his best friend. Self taught, he began writing songs at the age of twelve, eventually adding piano, bass, drums and even cello to his musical accomplishments. It wasn’t long after his final school year that he recorded his first studio record called "Mr. Boyd" with a session band that included pianist Reg Dwight, later to become known as Elton John. It was during this time that Roger met Rick Davies and the nucleus of Supertramp was born. Their initial song-writing collaborations attracted the attention of A&M Records and their first album ”Supertramp“ was released in 1969. Roger was 19.
Shortly after this Roger and Rick began writing separately, even though like Lennon/McCartney they maintained a joint writer’s credit throughout their career. In 1973 the band released "Crime of the Century" with Roger’s song " "Dreamer" becoming a huge hit and propelling the album to Number One in the English charts. Supertramp had arrived. For the next eight years, what fans call the "Golden Years," four stunning albums and numerous tours culminated in the huge worldwide success of "Breakfast in America." Roger’s songwriting and producing skills resulted in three classic hits from the album - "The Logical Song," "Take the Long Way Home" and "Breakfast In America." Many awards followed with "Logical Song" being named best song musically and lyrically at England’s prestigious Ivor Novello Awards in 1980. It also had the distinction of becoming one of the most quoted lyrics in schools.
Roger parted company with Supertramp in 1983 after the "Famous Last Words" album and tour. Turning his attention to his new family, Roger built a state of the art recording studio 24 multi-track at home so he could work and be close to his children as they grew up. His first solo album "In the Eye of the Storm," was released in 1984 and became an international hit, selling over 2 million copies. Turning down offers to tour, Roger instead kept his focus on home and family. In 1987, the same week that Roger's second album "Hai, Hai" was released, Roger took a bad fall and shattered both his wrists. Doctors told him he would never play music again. After a long period of self-healing and physical therapy, Roger proved them wrong and his playing abilities returned. But it was ten years before Roger’s next album - a live concert he did with his now teenage son Andrew entitled "Rites of Passage." After which in 2000, Roger released "Open the Door," his first studio album in fourteen years.
It is only in the last few years with kids grown and a spiritual rebirth that Roger has felt the call to perform again. The legend is back and his signature voice is stronger than ever. Currently he performs both solo and with orchestras, playing a variety of his repertoire of Supertramp and Solo Hits.
Thirty five years after he wrote his classic song "Give a Little Bit," Roger will be receiving an award in May for his song being one of the most performed works in 2005 in the ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) repertory. In the past few years Roger has donated "Give a Little Bit" to help raise funds for Tsunami Relief efforts and other worthy causes, welcoming the opportunity to give back for a life he is truly grateful for.
To many fans Roger was and still is the heart and soul of Supertramp and it is the joy and the love that audiences feel when Roger sings in concert that remind them of the special place in their hearts his songs have played in their own life journeys.

Bob Siebenberg, (born Robert Layne Siebenberg, on 31 October 1949, in Glendale, California) also known as C. Benberg, is a member of the so-called 'classic lineup' of British progressive rock band Supertramp, playing drums and percussion and was the lone American in the Supertramp classic lineup.
A skilled drummer, Siebenberg displays a great aptitude for the constantly changing patterns and rhythms typical of this genre. After the departure of Roger Hodgson, Rick Davies recruited Mark Hart (ex of New Zealand band Crowded House) to join Supertramp. Siebenberg's son Jesse has also been in the band since around the time of the release of the live album It Was The Best Of Times (live; 1999) but also appears on some concerts and albums released more recently.
Bob also released a solo album in 1984 called "Giants in our own room" (and credited to "Siebenberg"), where he also sings lead on half of the songs and also contributes plays keyboards and drums.
Joining Bob on this record were Scott Gorham of Thin Lizzy, Steve Ferris of Mister Mister, Procol Harum drummer B. J. Wilson, Kerry Hatch of Oingo Boingo and John Helliwell. An old friend Derek Beauchemin joined in to co-write and play keyboards.
Siebenberg was also in a band called "Heads up" who released the 1989 album "The Long Shot". Joining Bob and his writing partner Dennis O'Donnell on this project were Mark Hart, Brad Cole, John Helliwell, Marty Walsh and again, Scott Gorham on guitar.
In 1989, Siebenberg became the first major artist to compose original music for a video game in Sierra On-line's Space Quest III: The Pirates of Pestulon. Space Quest III's soundtrack has often been noted as one of the best the company ever produced.
He appears to be planning to release another solo album tentatively titled "The Glendale River" which appears to have been in production since 1997.

I was born in Todmorden, West Yorkshire, England (U.F.O. centre of the U.K. ) in 1945 and grew up, rather sheltered
from the big world, in the quite austere 1950s. I sang in the church choir and had piano lessons for a year at age nine.
After hearing Monty Sunshine play “Petite Fleur” with Chris Barber's Jazz Band, I was inspired, and saved up for two years to
buy a clarinet for £15 when I was thirteen. I soon began to appreciate “modern” jazz and bought a saxophone two
years later.
My inspirations then were Cannonball Adderley, Sonny Rollins, Miles Davis and Art Blakey.
When I left school I went to Birmingham to work as a computer programmer. There I played with various bands and groups
including “The Dicemen” (we wore “Beatle” suits with trousers so tight we had to be lifted on to the stage) and “Jugs O'Henry”
with whom I turned professional in 1965. “Jugs..” was short-lived, and, after putting an advertisement in the “Melody Maker”
music weekly which read “Have sax, will travel”, I joined “The Alan Bown Set” with whom I spent six years.
We made several albums, played thousands of gigs, and had the singers Jess Roden, Gordon Neville and Robert Palmer.
Our music progressed (or regressed, depending on your point-of-view) from soul music to quite free jazzy rock, calling
in on flower-power and psychedelia on the way.

Dougie Thomson (pronounced "doogie") was born Douglas Campbell Thomson on March 24, 1951 in Glasgow, Strathclyde, Scotland and raised in the Rutherglen area of the same city. Dougie was a member of the so-called Supertramp 'classic lineup' playing bass guitar from 1973 until Supertramp's initial break-up in 1988.
Dougie's musical career began in August 1969 when he joined a local Glaswegian band "The Beings". Then in September of 1971 Dougie, joins The Alan Bown Set replacing Andy Brown and, as fate has it, first worked with future Supertramp bandmate John Helliwell briefly. In February of 1972, Dougie tried out for Supertramp and ended up playing with the band at several gigs as a temporary stand-in. In 1973, Dougie joined Supertramp as bass player and also helps take over the business management along with Dave Margereson. He also persuaded John Helliwell into joining the band.
Dougie would play with Supertramp on its Crime of the Century, Crisis? What Crisis?, Even in the Quietest Moments, Breakfast in America, Paris, ...Famous Last Words..., Brother Where You Bound and Free as a Bird albums.
After Supertramp initially disbanded in 1988, Dougie became a publisher in the music business creating Trinity publishing and works with a management company in Chicago, Illinois. He did not participate in Supertramp's regrouping in 1997 for the album Some Things Never Change.
He is also an avid sailor owning a number of yachts.
He has 3 kids, James Thomson, who is currently thirteen years old, Kyle Thomson, currently ten years old, and Emma Thomson, who is mid 20 to early 30 range. He also is working with JBM management, Managing New Sense, Disturbed, The Fags and Dark New Day.

Born in London into a musical family (father Bob Siebenberg drummer in Supertramp and Scott Gorham guitar player in Thin Lizzy), Jesse spent a lot of time in studios and on the road getting aquainted with life as a musician.
As Jess puts is, “They were best friends growing up (and still are), so I was around them a lot, soaking up the music thing. I never figured I’d grow up to do anything else. I started out on toys ‘r’ us Muppets drum kits, and as I got bigger was able to reach the pedals of my dad’s kit. I then moved on to learning bass, guitar, keys, and whatever else was laying around that I wouldn’t get grounded for tampering with!” Jesse began doing professional gigs at age thirteen as a drummer.
Around that time he was given access to his father’s home studio to learn to write and record his own compositions. After finishing high school and with a few national tours under his belt, Jesse attended Berklee College of Music in Boston on a scholarship to study film scoring, music production/engineering and composition.
His entrance exam tested him out of over 60% of the cirriculum and he ultimately returned to California to continue his studies at Westmont College.
At the age of 20, he joined Supertramp and contributed keyboard, guitar, vocal and percussion work on stage and in the studio. Playing various instruments on numerous albums, Jesse began branching out into production.
In the mid 90’s he co-produced Jonathan McEuen’s Sampolin’ 14 as well as 2 albums for local heros “The Jonathan Raffetto Band”. Around this time he did a European tour playing bass for Roger Hodgson’s "Open The Door" release.
Producing a few other groups and honing his craft, he then co-produced Crosby Loggins’ debut album “We All Go Home”. From there he caught the attention of Crosby’s father Kenny, and completed co-production of his new album “How About Now”.
Jesse met fellow singer/songwriter/producer Todd Hannigan at a session at Brotheryn Studios. They partnered up and have been operating Brotheryn studios since 2002. Brotheryn won awards for “Shelter” (best film X-Dance), “Hallowed Ground” (ESPN’s Action Sports Movie of the Year), “Thicker Than Water” (Surfer Magazine’s Video of the Year), “September Sessions” (ESPN’s Best Sports Movie of the Year), “Flow” (Best Documentary X-Dance), "Sliding Liberia" (people’s choice Alpinist FF, nominated for best score XDance), "Wave Riders" (Jameson’s Irish Int. FF Viewers’ Choice), “Shape Of Water” (Best Feature Documentary, World Cinema Award, Best Director (San Francisco Women’s Film Festival), National Association for Film and Digital Media Artists INSIGHT awards of excellence: Original score, editing, human rights, post-production, research, and original score…
Jesse also co-produced Todd Hannigan’s critically acclaimed debut album Volume 1. Todd and Jesse acquired a third partner in Jason Mariani (Local H, Supertramp). Jesse has traveled extensively nationally and internationally as a touring musician with groups such as Supertramp, Hanna-McEuen, A Fine Frenzy, Kenny Loggins, Crosby Loggins, Todd Hannigan and the Heavy 29’s, John McEuen and the String Wizards, Whisky Falls, Mark Hart (Crowded House) and many other bands of different genres.
In 2003 he had a lead single hit in Europe with a project called Gaia which he promoted extensively, performing at such events as “Art On Ice” featuring Olympic gold medalist Evgeni Plushenko.
He has co-billed with groups such as Coldplay, Wilco, Lenny Kravitz, The Black Keys, and has performed on Jay Leno and many other national and international TV promotion.
His debut album, “Undiscovery”, is complete will be promoted extensively in the coming months. Jesse describes it as an accumulation of everything he’s learned about life and music thus far, and is looking forward to putting out much more music over the coming years.
Mark Hart was born in Fort Scott, Kansas, USA, on July 2, 1953, as his parents' second child. Mark's older brother Jeff has a medical practice in Kansas City.
Music came to Mark at an early age. His parents used to sing to Mark and his brother at the breakfast table, his father beating out rhytms on cereal bowls and his mother doing most of the singing. When Mark was about seven he started taking piano lessons, and a few years later he also learned to play the guitar. His teacher was five years older than Mark and played in a band. This guy could play piano in blues style, and taught Mark things like "Watermelon Man" by Herbie Hancock on piano, and then he would teach Mark guitar stuff.
Mark started to study classical music and went to a musical college. After his college days, Mark became a full-time musician, working with a variety of people, from Sonny Bono's daughter to Danny Elfman. He also had a band of his own called Combination, which was managed by Gary Stamler (who also was Crowded House's US manager for about a decade). Combination had a record deal, but nothing happened and the group disbanded. Mark played with Sam[antha] Phillips and toured and recorded as a session musician with Supertramp. In 1989, he started working with Crowded House.
Crowded House had a keyboard situation occur whereby Mitchell Froom, their producer and session keyboardist on their first albums, didn't want to tour with the group. Initially, the group had hired former Split Enz keyboardist Eddie Rayner, but due to fatherhood he too had declined to continue as touring keyboardist, so Crowded House needed someone to replace him. The band's manager, Gary Stamler, recommended Mark, knowing him from his time with Combination. In 1992, after several tours with Crowded House, Mark became a permanent member prior to the recording of "Together Alone".
Mark Hart lives in Los Angeles with his wife and their two daughters.
Carl Verheyen is a major presence on the guitar. Growing up in Pasadena in Southern California, he began a lifelong study of the instrument at age 10. Even in his early teens Carl practiced guitar every day, a tradition that continues to this day. Four or five rock bands down the road, he decided to pursue his musical education at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Although his formal training was to last less than a year, the experience proved invaluable, broadening Carl’s musical influences and introducing him to jazz , blues, classical and country music.
While living near the University of Massachusetts, Carl got the opportunity to work with the innovative jazz drummer, Max Roach. After a brief taste of the road, he returned to the Los Angeles area and began leading his own group, which included bassists John Patitucci and Dave Marotta and drummers Chad Wackerman and John Ferraro.

Dear Raquel,
Thanks for your great energy in making a site for the enjoyment of others.
It’s funny when you asked me to mention some things that I may like to offer info on.
It becomes a catalyst for seeing a lot of things that one is involved with. And then I understand why I am so busy…..
Let’s do the spiritual stuff first…. I meditate and love the practice. And encourage anyone to enjoy the incredible book “Autobiography of a Yogi” by Paramahansa Yogananda
It is in Spanish and most other languages. It was a book that was a turning point in my life and deeply surprised me as I didn’t think I needed much change!!!
Also I am involved with the charities of an incredible saint that also visits Spain each year. Called Amma . Her website is www.amma.org
I urge anyone who can break away from their distractions to visit with her when she comes to your country. Miguel has been and she can offer so much it just takes a bit of time to pick up on the ongoing lessons.
On the work front . www.astrogems.com is a website that I have been working on for nearly 15 years and it is also in Spanish at http://www.astrogems.com/index_spanish.php
and mentions how specific crystal materials touching the skin and help strengthen the electrical fields and circuits in the body . In such a way as to help ones situations and mental conditions in life.
It is an ancient science and I have tried to not make the sight characteristically suppositional as so many new ages sights are.
I also have a large picture gallery on this site which could be the largest online of its kind.
For the last five years I have been working with this amazing artist to create color paintings of some of the greatest people in history that I admire using old black and white photographs and it has started to become a successful business selling the prints of these pictures. The pictures are of Krishna and Jesus and other great saints
It didn’t start as a business but became one as a result of pursuing something I love to do.
Astrogems started the same way I wanted this certain kind of gem based electromagnetic instrument and had to make one as nobody specialized in this type of product and then it slowly developed into a business model that has more or less paid the bills for the last 20 years.!!
So I am a big believer in following what is important to you and it may blossom into a dream etc.
I also have another website called www.itmaycomeback.com which is a bit of a diversion promoting a concept that I think the world really needs. As the police do such a poor job in property protection etc and have divorced the general public from its responsibility to look out for each other. I hardly get to work on it but am keeping it up.
And then recently a bazaar twist in my work has occurred……..
For the last two years I have had a CD called Innocence in my car CD player.
The other five CD's in the CD stacker have been rotated out over time but I have loved the Innocence CD so much that it has stayed in there
.I never expected to meet the composer in person as apart from him being my favorite musician he also lives in Australia .
While attending the international new age trade show in Denver. I was walking past a pianist who was playing his music and suddenly realized that it had to be him. I waited until he had finished as I wanted to let him know how much I enjoyed his music. He was at the show as an invited guest of honor.
We got to chatting and found we had a lot in common . He traveled with me after the show for a couple of weeks and we visited Amma in Albuquerque . Where we did a retreat .
For a few days he asked me if I wanted to be his business manager if he moved to the States.
And I politely let him know that this was not my interest or background and that I was sure he could find many others that were much better qualified.
However after about a week it started to seem like a possible fit.
He is greatly loved and respected in Australia and in his career has sold over 2 million CD's..
But in the states he is not well known . Australia is a difficult place to market you music with out a major label and these days the big labels are really floundering.
His main style is focused around piano and synthesizer. With flavorings similar to Kitaro and Vangelis. At Amma’s Ken was invited to play twice and the thousand or so in the audience responded with great applause etc. He weaves wonderful piano melodies into his compositions.
. As when you favorite musician comes out of no where to offer you such an honor, one is reminded yet again of life’s amazing twists and turns.
Kens website which is being greatly redesigned at present I in preparation for his US residence is
www.kendavismusic.com
Hope your site gives you a lot of pleasure
In the Love
Nick
