What is Supine Studios?
Supine Studios is our home. We are a small collective of Artists, Designers and Musicians living in a house in Dalston, North East London. We have restored a Victorian shopfront, and converted it into a Gallery, an Art Studio and a Workshop. We regularly put on exhibitions of ours and up and coming Artists work, and host an exhibition about once a month. You can find details of what's coming up to the right. We have also converted our basement into a Recording Studio and it has become a creative hub for lots of musicians. Artists who have used the studio include our own Cibelle, Jacob (Lykkemosen), and from elsewhere: Dev from Lightspeed Champion, Barbarossa, Johnny Flynn, Josh Weller, the Bleeding Heart Narrative, the Mules, Emmy the Great, A - Human and the Good Shoes.

supinestudiosonfacebookWe also run a Clubnight!
'Supine Studios Presents...' is a monthly night which takes place at Bardens Boudoir in Dalston. Each month is themed differently with sets, props, paintings and backdrops built by the Supines to match the theme, and its Fancy Dress! For example for 'Birds Birds Birds' ,we built Scarecrows and Trees and dotted them around the bar, and for 'Circus' we built an 8ft papier mache bear! These props are then left at the end of the night in the street for anyone to take...And we make our costumes too!
As regards to the entertainment, acts are chosen by the Supines, and we try and mix new acts with acts who use our recording studio, which are always quirky and unusual. E.g. The Gaggle (a 22 strong all female group who stomp out a rhythm and sing as a choir) and Josh Weller, rising indie star.
Our DJs play a mixture of party tunes with indie sensibilities, from brazilian funk, 20s xxxx, post-punk, jungle, rock & roll, uk garage, Rn'B, disney showtunes to E17 and Girls Aloud.
The night is really starting to gather momentum, and with all those visual and audio treats each month, you can understand why!
Entrance is £5 on the door, OR £3 if you dress up.
Every fourth Friday of the Month at Bardens Boudoir, 8pm - 4am. You can find whats coming up next in our events on the right. And check out our photos to see what you've missed!

Red Velvet Curtain Cult presents:
VIRGIN BRIDE by Tom Estes
Benjamin Franklin House
36 Craven Street
London
WC2N 5NF
Following on from their sell out shows at the Whitechapel Art Gallery, The Red Velvet Curtain Cult shall inhabit and haunt the Benjamin Franklin House with site specific art, performance, film, oddities and happenings from 13 artists. Set in a Georgian house where layers of history unravel from behind panelled walls and deep-set fireplaces whisper ashes of deeds past, the artists will engage with and draw inspiration from the history of the space, including its most famous inhabitant Benjamin Franklin, he of keys and kites….
Expect spinning tops, glass armonicas, trepanning games, story telling, ceremonial mythologies, muffled whisperings, cyclical wanderings, all serenaded by the sound of a haunting electric cello…
Curated by Lili Spain and Sarah Grainger-Jones
