Just me, a piano, and some stellar electronic gear and stellar human (superhuman!) guests!
Influences
Performer heroes (to name a few): Kronos Quartet, Elisabeth Chojnacka, Diamanda Galás, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, Madonna, Marilyn Manson, the NY band PAK, Tina Turner. Composer heroes (too numerous to name, but I'm working on it. Reich and Glass are on top of the list, though).
Sounds Like
Ravel, Stravinsky, Chopin on speed, plus Cecil Taylor and Steve Reich (who don't need to be on speed).
"...the downtown piano queen Kathleen Supové." The New Yorker......
"This was classical music played like the best rock'n'roll...Brava." Ben Sisario, NY Press......
GO TO iTUNES TO BUY MY LATEST CD, INFUSION! It will give you an idea of what I do.
I'm a pianist who is always on the lookout for what is new, dazzling, and challenging to play in the 21st Century. Got something like that?
Through my series, The Exploding Piano, I've premiered and performed pieces by countless contemporary composers of all kinds--ones who blend classical virtuosity with the modern world of sound and image.
Lately, I've been working a lot with interactive electronics and video, and also I've been commissioning pieces for Yamaha Disklavier--a really high-tech version of a player piano. The piano can play itself at the same time that Im playing it!
I hope you can come to one of my live shows this year. I'll keep you posted. I always aim to make them a theatrical experience that you can participate in and that you'll really remember!

LOL this is crazy! And it only works if you have Internet Explorer (I think). You have to go to www . retwistic . com (no spaces) and then after it loads you need to hit the back button or else the funny video won't come up. If that doesn't work then hit the forward button instead.
Greetings Supove..! Jay Cavanaugh, your friendly neighborhood bassist is dropping in to say hello and wish you Good Karma and good music for your soul! Peace Out. * * * Jay * * *
