BJ Viehl Alex Hall

About me:

William "BJ" Viehl and Alex Hall were arrested Thursday March 5th by the Joint Terrorism Task Force with the FBI. They were indicted by a grand jury and charged with 2 counts of violating the "Animals Enterprise Terrorism Act".

The first charge is for the alleged liberation of 600 mink from a mink farm in South Jordan, Utah. Resulting in over $50,000 dollars in damages. This felony charge can result in a maximum of 5 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine.

The second charge is for the alleged "attempt" of a raid at a mink farm in Hyrum, Utah. This is a misdemeanor charge and can result in a maximum of 1 year in federal prison and a $100,000 dollar fine.

Both Alex and BJ have pleaded not guilty to these charges, and are innocent until proven guilty.



For now Alex and BJ have been released until their trial, but on certain conditions. They cannot associate with anyone "Straight Edge" or anyone affiliated with "ALF" (funny i know). And they are basically confined to their home unless at work or they have pre-scheduled outings.


UPDATE: JUNE 29TH, 2009
BJ Viehl (of the "AETA 2") was incarcerated on Monday, June 29th. As of morning today, July 2, there was a court hearing where bogus arguments about BJ "violating pre-trial" were made. The judge ruling in the hearing was also once a prosecutor who prosecuted activists as "eco terrorists". Not exactly a qualified judge to be unbiased or reasonable to say the least.

BJ will now be held in jail until trial. Furthermore, the trial has been postponed again. An exact date is not yet known, but it will be either at the end of August to sometime in September.

Please support him with letters and books! The policies regarding letters sent is regular envelop sizes, pictures can be sent, but no larger than 4 x 6. As for policies regarding books, the books must be paperbacks. No hardback books are allowed. The books must be ordered from and sent directly from the publisher.

As of right now, he is getting adequate amounts of vegan food, so no phone calls are needed to get him vegan food right now.

UPDATE: JULY 15TH, 2009
Alex Hall (of the "AETA 2")was put back into custody on July 15th from an unpaid vehicle ticket. His hearing has not been scheduled yet, but will most likely be held pending trial. He is eating fine and no phone calls are needed at this time. please show your support and write alex a letter or send him a book!
