Dan Amos is a commited vegan activist who was arrested and bailed after 32 separate police raids, involving 700 police officers in the UK, The Netherlands and Belgium on May 1st 2007.
Dan was charged with "conspiracy to blackmail" Huntingdon Life Sciences and remanded on Wednesday 30th July 2008 at Winchester Crown Court after pleading guilty due to circumstantial evidence and the possibility of a trial lasting up to six months.
On 21st January 2009 he was sentenced to 4 years imprisonment.
You can help by sending donations to help pay for Dan's vegan diet, clothing and other essentials. This can be done either as a postal order, made payable to "HM Prison Service" and write "Daniel Amos (VN7818)" on the back. This can be sent to Dan's prison address above. Or as a cheque, made payable to "HM Prison Service" with "Daniel Amos (VN7818)" on the back.
What you can send: Envelopes, cards, non-ring bind writing paper, stamps and self addressed envelopes.
He is now allowed to wear his own clothes, however he is not allowed anything sent in. So all clothes have to be bought brand new off the M&M website. Also, he isn't allowed any books, cds or dvds sent in, and can only buy items from a selection within the Argos catalogue. Any postal orders or cheques to help Dan afford some clothes and other items from the Argos catalogue would be greatly appreciated :)

Hi Dan, and happy birthday, keep faith. I have never met you, but, you can be sure that your fight is an example for us here in France, as we are fighting to save a forest against a project of quarry. Big money is involved too, the owner of the forest belongs to a wealthy family who owns chains of supermarkets ...That guy only thinks about making profit. HLS will not win! Those monsters will be shut down. It's a long hard battle and though nothing can make up for the horrible things that have happened, at least this whole experience is showing how passionate and positive and loving people can actually be. It's not "just human nature" to be cruel and nasty... that's taught and learned through hatred and desensitization and it doesn't have to be that way.
I am so disgusted at this injustice! It's unbelievable how human laws can punish people for speaking up against animal cruelty. I wonder when the world will wake up and realize we are not the only specie that deserves respect on Earth. Why certain human beings think we are the only ones that are allowed to have rights. I admire Dan Amos for his courage. God bless him for his sacrifice! Thanks for letting me join his circle of friends. I feel honored.
