Dan Amos is a commited vegan activist who was arrested and bailed after 32 separate police raids, involving 700 police officers in the UK, The Netherlands and Belgium on May 1st 2007.
Dan was charged with "conspiracy to blackmail" Huntingdon Life Sciences and remanded on Wednesday 30th July 2008 at Winchester Crown Court after pleading guilty due to circumstantial evidence and the possibility of a trial lasting up to six months.
On 21st January 2009 he was sentenced to 4 years imprisonment.
You can help by sending donations to help pay for Dan's vegan diet, clothing and other essentials. This can be done either as a postal order, made payable to "HM Prison Service" and write "Daniel Amos (VN7818)" on the back. This can be sent to Dan's prison address above. Or as a cheque, made payable to "HM Prison Service" with "Daniel Amos (VN7818)" on the back.
What you can send: Envelopes, cards, non-ring bind writing paper, stamps and self addressed envelopes.
He is now allowed to wear his own clothes, however he is not allowed anything sent in. So all clothes have to be bought brand new off the M&M website. Also, he isn't allowed any books, cds or dvds sent in, and can only buy items from a selection within the Argos catalogue. Any postal orders or cheques to help Dan afford some clothes and other items from the Argos catalogue would be greatly appreciated :)

On June 13th 2009, the charity Macmillan Cancer Support is holding its annual 'Big Fish' event to raise funds, where people are sponsored to fish and can win prizes such as for the heaviest fish caught.
