Gypsy Jazz and Swing Music for your Special Event !
Residing in Santa Cruz County, the musicians of Surf City Swing
specialize in hot club swing music, also known as gypsy jazz.
The music, played in the tradition of Django Reinhardt and other jazz ensembles
of the 1930's, represents a musical confluence of early American swing,
Parisian musette, and Manouche(gypsy) folk traditions. Listeners can
expect to hear the early jazz standards - Ellington, Porter,
Gerswhin, along with the original compositions of Django
Reinhardt and selected latin standards. Surf City Swing’s varied repertoire allows them to set the tone for a wide variety of events, from danceable swing to laid back ambiance. The band can perform in a variety of settings, from a purely acoustic and mobile format, to fully amplified with complete sound system, as needed.

"We would like to thank your group for participation in La Madrona’s Annual “Art and Wine Affair”. All attending members, guests, and staff feel it was a huge success (due much because of the “mood” your group set!), …Please extend our thanks to the guys…knowing how much we enjoyed what you added to our day!"
