Hi I love JESUS, you, surfing and life!!! Born and raised on Kauai, I started surfing when I was like 4 or 5. Lost my left arm to a shark attack in 2003 but couldn't imagine life away from the beach without the sport I'm so passionate about - surfing! So I gave surfing a shot with one arm, and now I'm back to living my dream! My goal in life is to serve and please God and do well in what he has called me to do, which is surf for Him and share His love and hope through my life!
Currently I am competing in the World Qualifying Series (WQS), traveling the world surfing these events and trying to qualify for the Women's Championship Tour (WCT).

Hey, just wanted to say that your such an inspiration to me. I have leukemia and knowing your story and how tough you were has really helped me battle through those tough times. I hope once everything is cured i can resume the sport that is my love and passion, hockey, just like you did with surfing. I hope to meet you someday, your an amazing person with wonderful stories. hi bethany my second mother is an amputee that lost her dominant right hand in a meat grinder almost 25 years ago at the age of 16..she is now launching a therputic riding center for just specializing in amputees and she is also a massachuttes certified trainer and a narah ceritifed trainer...im legitt...her website is destinysride.com

Thank you for speaking at my church on sunday. It was a really inspiring story. It blew my mind to see that right after the attack, at 13 years old you were saying this is Gods plan for my life! Wow. Good job on are you smarter than a fifth grader! I never watch the show, I just happened to catch that episode. I put 2 pictures of you in my pictures. One is just you, and one is with both of us : ). Thanks for the picture and autograph. How does it feel to have over a million people know who you are!? That is crazy! I have always thought it would be kinda cool to just be able to say... A Million people know who I am. You are really an inspiring person, the way you look at what happened and say I am going to use it to teach people about God, and how The minute you were allowed back in the water you were there. Thank you again for coming to our church in the blistering heat of Arizona!
Hey Bethany! I am currently 18 years old. Im sad i missed you while you were here in Arizona! When I went to Kauai two summers ago, I heard you were seen on North Shore often, so I went there hoping I might get the chance to meet you. (I learned to surf in Hawaii, but Im not good!) I read your book Soul Surfer and did a report on it in 8th grade. Ever since I heard your story and saw your amazing faith in our God, you have been such an inspiration to me (and I know to others as well). I want to see your documentary too! There is the poster of the cover of your Soul Surfer book on my wall in my room and I see it everyday. It's a reminder that God works great things through hardships we face, and that He will never let any pain be wasted. God bless you. p.s. I attend The Church At Arrowhead (TCAA) in Pheonix, AZ.
