Surfquake are a recently formed, surf-guitar band, aiming to deliver the kind of driving, rock ‘n’ roll rhythms, made famous by the likes of Dick Dale, The Ventures, The Chandelles, The Trashmen & many others, whilst adding a little extra raunch of their own to the proceedings.
Hailing from Colchester (admittedly, a town not known for it’s “gnarly waves”), this dynamic trio not only keep the surf-guitar tradition alive but drag it kicking & screaming into the noughties with a modern approach that will leave you throwing S-turns & verticals in your living room before you can say, WIPE OUT!
Surfquake perform classics from the halcyon days of surf-guitar, as well as self penned tunes that sit neatly amongst them. Expect some early demo recordings here soon, to whet your appetite.
So wax up your boards, & ride the rockin’ & rollin’ waves with Surfquake.

Hi.Peter here, guitarist with the Ringtones. Good to see you Nick the other night at Milden. Quite a departure from Jellybag! I kept stepping on the accordianist's foot whilst dancing! Had a look at your photos and I have to say - VERY cool shirts and uniform look. We do 50s covers so maybe a link up would be a good idea. All the best to you guys - you have a niche market!
thank you so much mates! i post a new version of "a shot in the dark" cause i was not satisfied with the precedent one... you're doing it too? when i'm listening to SpyC i think to myself "wow! their version must be great!!!" cheers, Fred.
Hiya! Just passing by to wish you a great weekend:)! (Would be cool if you checked out our 'Lorraine' too:)! Wishing you good luck & all the best from Paul:)!
Hey Surfquake, thanks.. you guys are too kind. It was the first time we had used this mini disk recorder so it was an experiment, but I put the songs up for fun anyway. My Bass sounds like I have it on Phaser Fuzz.. haha. I think it was setting just a little too close to the mic. Thanks for the encore link. I didn't forget, I just got the time to watch confused with the Time difference over here. I'm going to go listen to your new songs and watch some videos now!! Great to hear from you, Surfs up, Deb
