We are the Eastern Long Island Chapter of The Surfrider Foundation, a non-profit grassroots organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of our world’s oceans, waves and beaches. Founded in 1984 by a handful of visionary surfers in Malibu, California, the Surfrider Foundation now maintains over 50,000 members and 80 chapters worldwide. Although our "territory" is generally Moriches Inlet eastward, we cooperate with the Central LI Chapter, NYC Chapter, and NJ Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation on many issues and efforts. The Montauk Lighthouse Revetment, East Hampton Coastal Legislation, and NY State Parks Access issues will definitely have an impact upon local beaches. Join us, get involved and have a voice.

We are heavily LOCAL - your neighbors, co-workers and friends on the east end. We are trying to keep our MySpace Friends List local and meaningful as well.
