Nathan Moore was just a merch guy....well he was actually an established songwriter.....but at that time, he was just a merch guy, for The Slip. The Slip was just a trio, although they always traveled with a merch guy..and at this point Nathan was the merch guy. One day, in late September 2001, they heard Nathan singing in the hotel shower and surprised him that night by bringing him on stage to sing his shower song. The result was stunning for everyone involved. The tour ended in a blizzard in Boston where the gentlemen were snowed in to the Barr brothers Mission Hill home for five days with a brand new stereo microphone and computer.This storm was the catalyst for a home recording sessionthat convinced Brad Barr, Andrew Barr, Nathan Moore and Marc Friedman to see this collaboration through. In 2005 they ventured into the Breakglass Studio in Montreal to track some songs which were released in a limited edition on their Only In Montreal EP.
The EP is a supercharged electro-folk record with many a tender moment. Only in Montreal EP is a limited edition cd available now.
Things have really just begun.

The show at the Ironhorse was fantastic!!!! I'm sooo glad that my baby was good with the sitter and I even got the hubby to come with me. He liked the music too....especially Nathan's singing voice.
we noticed y'all were playing in Burlington tonight when we played here a couple of days ago and it just happens to be on our one day off in VT... so we're making the most of it.
amazing sunny day + a SMMD show + VT. oh my. couldn't ask for a better way to spend an off day.
Can't wait for the Ironhorse show...I only hope my little princess does good with the sitter tomorrow night so I can convince my hubby to "let" me go to the show Saturday. I think I'm gonna play the "mommy needs a break from being a feeding machine card". Because boy do I. Haven't seen you all since July last year. Haven't seen any music since then actually....so sad really.
