In Norse mythology, Surtr (modern Icelandic Surtur, sometimes Anglicized Surt) is the leader of the fire giants in the south, the ruler of Muspelheim, the realm of fire. His name means "Swart" or Black, and at the end of the world, Ragnarok, his hordes will rush north like a south wind to overwhelm the gods.
Surtur has a art side to him, he likes to kill time until Ragnarok by making strange sounds. These sounds south his souls and make time go faster by. They also represent his mental ideas about where he likes the world to be at before Ragnarok, this is expressed in his blog Surtur’s Rambling, where he hopes to ramble on until Ragnarok.
