Hi! I'm Susan Calvin, and I'm a writer from ... well, all over. My father was in the US Army for 32 years, and so I'm pretty much from everywhere. I write science fiction and romance, both with a bit of a westerny feel. If you want to get the idea, watch a few episodes of Firefly. I would love to have been a writer for that show.
My idea of a good time? Well, I'm afraid I'm a bit of a homebody. I like reading (big surprise), and I like watching good TV. Bad TV too, if it's fun. I write a lot, and I enjoy playing board games with my sweetie and my friends. The perfect date? What else? "Dinner and a movie, Mr. Steele."
While I like camping and backpacking, I don't get a chance to do it much, and backyard astronomy was great fun, but the tools are expensive and once you get past a certain age, the body rebels at being out in the heat or the cold after dark. Magazines and the internet are my skies now.
I live with my sweetie and my aging puppy. During the day, I'm a computer geek, and by night, I'm hard at work on my first novel, a space western romance entitled A Girl of Extraordinary Breeding. I've got a short story making the rounds entitled "Schroedinger's Woman." We'll see how well people like it.
