Walking/hiking, swimming, yoga, reading fiction, writing fiction and essays, traveling, attending the theater, especially musicals (yes, I'm a theater queen!), staring at my dormant piano, eating dark chocolate, eating dessert first, and hanging with my friends, family and kids.
Music
A little of this, a little of that: rock, Motown, blues, pop, alternative and folk. Lately I've been gravitating towards strong female vocalists like Patty Griffin, Norah Jones, Annie Lennox, and Tori Amos.
Movies
The Shawshank Redemption, The Princess Bride, the first three Star Wars flicks (I mean the last 3 but the first ones...oh, whatever), Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The Bourne Ultimatum, This is Spinal Tap, The 40 Year-Old Virgin, Mystic River (dark story, excellent acting), Stranger Than Fiction. My taste in movies is a bit like me - sometimes serious and philosophical, sometimes just plain old goofy.
Television
I don't watch much TV these days except for Lost, sometimes The Office and shows I won't admit to.
Books
Pride & Prejudice; Jane Eyre; Memoirs of a Geisha; Dear Zoe; The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time; Wicked; Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister; Is That a Moose in Your Pocket?; The Kite Runner; The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe; and many more than I can remember at the moment.
About me: I'm a lot of different things to a lot of different people: a mother of two, writer, blogger, professional marketer and master juggler, at least in the figurative sense. I believe in the power of laughter, kindness, friendship and karma, and that people really do the best they can with the knowledge they have at the time. Well, most people. Most of the time.
So, yeah, I'm a lot of different things to people. I play a lot of different roles in life. Right now, I’m just enjoying playing me. (I've tried hiring others to play me, but no one will return my calls.)

I truly hope that you enjoy YOUR important, very special, and magnificent day today in every regard, dear soul ~ may this New Year of your life be filled with an ever-flowing channel of inspiration in all you do, both professionally and personally, and may it hold for you the promise fulfilled of excellent health throughout, great success and prosperity, and an abundance of joy and contentment along the way. . .
Earlier this year (back in February), I, too, turned 40 years young ~ though it is just a number, it did cause a bit more reflection for me than other birthdays and prompted me to take inventory of my life. . .but when all is said and done I know that this is going to end up being one of the best decades of my life, and I believe that it will be for you as well, Susan ~ I sincerely hope that the next several years will unveil for you the very realization of your deepest dreams and desires, my wonderful friend. . .
Peace, Love, & Light Is Yours Always ~
Greg
P.S. - I enjoyed reading your latest blog (i.e. - tips for the next 40 years of your life) ~ I will think about this for a bit, and if I come up with anything profound I will stop back and share it with you, lady. . .
Yes, now that I have had some of the brownie, I am reminded that little life irritations aren't important. I have a healthy family and chocolate by my side. What more do I need?
Hi Susan! Thanks for adding me, but I have to say I like the last 3 Star Wars...I mean the first three...you know what I mean, better. The orginals just don't grab me. Chrisy
Hey there! Hope you are having a great rest of the summer. Your sky diving looks like a blast, I think Eric and I will have to try that soon. Keep in touch.
Susan--I will be home August 1-8. I will be in to visit the office at some point, probably on Monday or Tuesday. I hope to see you then! Miss you. Have a great weekend!
The only other film you have to watch is Batman Begins. Whatever you do, do NOT ever watch Batman & Robin...it's like watching someone vomit neon all over the screen and punching you in the temple the whole time. Ugh.
Hi Susan, Queen Of All Bloggers. The Dark Knight was excellent, wasn't it? I hope Heath Ledger gets some posthumous acting honours...he was amazing. I hope you're well and all that jolly stuff.
Thanks, Susan! Glad to hear your trip was fun. It's my turn to go out of town now; I'll be in south central PA visiting a girlfriend for a few days. So I will have a good week - you do the same!
Thanks for the blog comment...I gotta work on some positive self-talk I think but not too much because it'll remind me of Dr Phil and I'll go off my food. Have a great time in Chicago!
OK, just to clarify, it is true that the security desk called 911 to get us out of the elevator and they sent paramedics instead of the fire dept. But, it really wasn't all that dramatic. (And DJ, they weren't all that cute -- but very nice and heroic!)
Mind you, while we were in the blasted elevator for 45 minutes I didn't really want anything BAD-bad to happen, but I kept thinking -- maybe something sort of dramatic will happen so I can blog about it!
Hmmm. Not so much, the MySpace headline is about as good as it gets.
BTW, the nice paramedics said elevators will never drop to the bottom, and that, no, you can't punch out the ceiling tiles to make an escape. Drat. We were thinking of it.
