Who Are Sam and Erin?
Sam and Erin are originally from Citrus Heights California. Both attended Casa Robles High School. Erin and Sam are both 23.
They met in high school while participating in the HS Air Force ROTC program.
They have been married four years and are each other’s soul mates.
Sam has been in the Marine Corps for four years. His job title is Cannoneer.
During Sam’s second deployment to Iraq, on July 24, 2007, SGT. Samuel Nichols, was severely wounded by in IED (improvised explosive device) while escorting a convoy in the Dilyala province of Iraq.
During this attack, four of his Marine Corp buddies were killed.
Sam is still in pretty bad shape so I’m sure he isn’t even aware of the deaths of his brothers—but I know one day, he will mourn their passing.

" I'm just one mom, of one soldier, from one family who's lost a loved one to war (My cousin, Guy Lamar Mears, Jr. - KIA - Vietnam)...just doing what I can to show my support for our son, SPC. David Dale, who returned wounded from IRAQ in May 'o7, as well as, all our troops & this GREAT NATION!
"The Tribute Lady" ...
A title recently given me, due to a number of Tribute Songs I've written over the last several years.
However, there's nothing "special" about me, I'm just a housewife, mom.
I often describe myself as ... " One mom, of one soldier, from one family who's lost a loved one to war (My cousin in Vietnam)... just doing what I can to show my support for our son, who returned wounded from IRAQ in May 'o7, all our troops and, this GREAT NATION!" ... through "My Gift of Song", my personal "THANK YOU" to ALL those who serve.
I am not a musician. I cannot read or write music. However, I DO realize I've been given a "Gift of Song", by God.
I can ONLY write when inspired & led. I NEVER know "when" it will happen, but, when "it" does...my whole world stops until I get the "song" out.
People often ask me "where" I get these beautiful, moving melodies, I tell them, "That's what I feel...in my heart. Literally, like the "chords" of my heart, it's what I FEEL!"
All my songs are FREE to download... or use on websites, provided proper copyright information is given. LINKS are appreciated, so, others may access the free downloads, also.
However, my songs my NOT be sold, or, used for ANY commercial purposes!

My country ‘tis of thee, Sweet land of liberty, Of thee I sing. Land where my father died! Land of the Pilgrim’s pride! From ev’ry mountain side, Let freedom ring... My native country thee, Land of the noble free, Thy name I love. I love thy rocks and rills, Thy woods and templed hills; My heart with rapture thrills. Like that above... Let music swell the breeze, And ring from all the trees, Sweet freedoms song. Let mortal tongues awake; Let all that breathes partake; Let rocks their silence break, The sound prolong... Our Father’s God to Thee, Author of liberty, To Thee we sing. Long may our land be bright, With freedoms holy light; Protect us by thy might, Great God, our King... ~ Samuel Frances Smith
– Remembering all who have served, And those that serve today. Remembering those about to deploy, And those deployed. Remembering our fallen, Those that have given the ultimate sacrifice. And... Remembering the sometimes forgotten, The ones that waited at home loving them....
