I played seven years of trumpet, trombone and euphonium at Petoskey public schools. When I was sixteen, I started playing harmonica. I worked at the City Park Grill in Petoskey, and the Larry Garner Blues Band was playing there that night, and Larry asked me to sit in after hearing me play in the parking lot. That was a turning point in my life. Now my instruments of choice are the fiddle and Venezuelan cuatro, but I pick up a mandolin from time to time. My last band was Combo Sanfona, and Ann Arbor-based klezmer octet. I enjoy playing traditional music, particularly waltzes and jigs.

Very nice saw playing last night at Shorts! My buddy plays the saw and it is a much-admired skill. The fiddle and harmonica playing was exceptional as well!
