Reading, writing, traveling to exotic locations (or even close to home), relaxing on the beach, spending time with my family, doing research, surfing the Web, technology gadgets
Music
Classic Rock, Southern Rock, Folk, Country if it's really good.
Movies
Enchanted April, True Lies (I know, goofy), Thomas Crowne Affair, All the Pirates of the Caribbean movies -- anything with Johnny Depp
Television
Drama, True Crime, Reality shows (my one weakness), anything that's NOT a sitcom. I love Bones, CSI, NCIS, Cold Case, Without a Trace, The Closer, All the Law & Order shows (particularly SVU), Top Chef, Project Runway, America's Next Top Model, Survivor and The Amazing Race.
Books
Anything by Allison Brennan, Mariah Stewart, Lisa Gardner, Suzanne Brockmann, Nora Roberts, Karen Rose, Brenda Novak... There are too many to mention them all. I love a great suspense. Right now, I'm making my way through every one of Mariah Stewart's books. As far as the classics, I love great literature. Like every young writer, I used to imagine myself as Jo in Little Women. I hid in The Secret Garden. I wanted to be Nancy Drew. Changing genres yet again, I found terror the first time in reading Stephen King's books. I realized the beauty of characterization when I read Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice. I can still see every one of those characters nearly 20 years after reading the book the first time. There are too many good books in the world to ever read them all...
Heroes
My grandmother was my hero. She was a "gutsy broad" -- a woman not afraid to take chances. She loved her life, her family, her friends. She had a heart that was so full of love. She never did anything to hurt another person and was always there to help someone. She saw the good when others saw bad. She was a woman who, if she'd been born 50 years later, would be a leader. She was always there for me.
My real live hero is my husband. Bill has put up with a writer for almost 29 years. He's always been supportive even when he wondered what the heck I was going to do next or what pleasant surprise waited just around the corner.

About me: I love to weave words into stories. Writing heart gripping suspense is my passion. Since I also love to travel and have a wanderlust soul, I've combined that with my passion for writing and I am also a travel journalist. Check out my latest travel adventures on my blog: Travel With Susan or at my website: THOT Information Services. Want to read some of my current fiction? Check out my website at www.SusanLanier.com

Who I'd like to meet: I love to meet interesting people from around the world. Cultures are so unique and it's fascinating to talk to people who see life in different ways than I see it. As for actual people, I love meeting the writers I read every day. There are far too many to mention and I've been lucky enough to have met a good number of them. I'd love to meet Louisa May Alcott, but that's not likely to happen, at least in this lifetime. Oh, and of course there's Johnny Depp. I would love to meet him.
Birthdays are nature's way of telling us to EAT MORE CAKE!! Hope yours is super special!
Btw, funny coincidence that we both have Spec-Ops books titled Shattered. Mine was published by Signet this past February as part of my High Risk series. I write a lot of SEALs, having loved watching them run (and launch their zodiacs during hell week on the rocks) on Coronado beach where we'd go from Phoenix several times a year to stay at the Del. I'll have to check yours out. :)
