I played the tuba, because of my grandfather I guess, from age 8-14. It's a really heavy instrument to carry, and about that time that I realized that I had just started seriously to practice my guitar-playing. Guitar came into my life when I was 10. It's all my celloist-brother's fault. He was a magician with the guitar, I thought, and wanted to be just as good as him. I fell in love with Blues-music at the age of 11 (2002), and started a band with some classmates (Janet Leon, Per Brehmer & Ruhi Erdogan!). We called our band "Walking Spanish" and we played at a lot of swedish blues festivals.
Later on I realized blues wasn't my thing, at least not the only kind of music that I wanted to play. I found improvising very amusing. It lead to that I started to play and explore jazz.
I got stuck, and now I'm still exploring jazzmusic, daily. Besides the popular music and classical stuff that I'm "working" with.
Here comes a couple of things that I've been doing during those years, besides practicing and wasting my time on computer games.
I've been soloist with Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and Gävle Symphony Orchestra with Magnus Rosén, Blue House Jazz Orchestra lead by Magnus Lindgren and Peter Asplund, Gislaved Bigband and a couple of other swedish bands and big bands.
I've been awarded the Albin Hagström Scholarship for guitarists twice, and I'm also sponsored by Fender Musical Instruments/Guild Guitars with a Guild Starfire IV and a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe.
Nowadays I mostly play with my "Susanna Risberg Trio" and/or "Per & Susanna". I'll probably be leaving Sweden soon, because of a Scholarship I got from Berklee College of Music, to go all the way over the ocean and study there. Damn..
