First and foremost, Susan Sheller is one hell-ova singer songwriter! She's also a painter, collagist. She's a mother of an amazing boy with special needs. She's my sista of many lifetimes. I've known her for a long time, beginning with the night I walked into a club where she was singing. We talked for the first time in the lady's room on her break, and a bond was sealed instantly. Personally I see Susan as a multifaceted purposeful woman who can sum it all up without a second thought. Her words in song as well as conversation are succinct, perfectly capturing the essence of the moment. She has a sense of humor, a sense of soul and a sense of perspective that I wish would rub off on me. I'm grateful Susan is in my life. Her songs, her voice and the whole package are a gift to the world. Please listen and if you like what you hear, share this with someone you know. Art is meant to be shared. There is a benfit concert for my 7yr old son Julian who has been in the hospital at UCLA Neuropsychiatric since 9/11/09 October 9th, THE WATERFRONT in Marina Del Rey. This will be an incredible night of music and art and friends. The proceeds will go to the medical expenses and long term care for Julian, who has been hospitalized for sensory pain and other complications associated with the mulitple diagnosis relating to his Autism. Hi Susan Sheller, Heaven & Earth is on hiatus now as Stuart Smith and Richie Onori have joined forces with bassist Steve Priest to reform "Sweet". For those of you unfamiliar with the band, Sweet originally formed in the early 70s and went on to sell over 40,000,000 albums with 11 International Top Ten Hits such as "Ballroom Blitz", "Little Willy", "Love is Like Oxygen", "Fox on the Run", "Teenage Rampage", "Action", "Blockbuster", "Hellraiser" and many others.
This reincarnation of the band reformed last year, playing their first show in June, and went on to play festivals throughout Canada and the States and had played to over 300,000 people before the year was out. During this tour last year they recorded a live CD available on Amazon entitled "Sweet, Live in America" which has received rave reviews - pick up a copy and please Add Sweet As Your Friend On Myspace!
