Susan Smith is a singer–songwriter of the first order, combining song craft with style throughout her heartfelt compositions. Her distinctive voice embraces each song, entwining words and music in a smooth and effortless fashion. Whether it be through a catchy melody or a poignant picture of a broken relationship, Susan never loses sight of her role as an entertainer. It is this that enhances both the singer and writer in her, allowing her to build a bridge to her audience.
Growing up in a small Midwestern town in Minnesota, music has always played a part in Susan's life; from listening to her parent’s record collection to her active role in playing music from her high school days and her college years at the University of Minnesota. During this time, Susan toured Europe and actively worked at perfecting her songwriting craft. After two years in the New York City area, Susan’s ambition led her to Nashville. She’s meeting with great sucess, appearing on the Grand Ole Opry stage and numerous other radio and television programs as well as touring throughout the U.S. to promote her album, "Life Ain't Long Enough." The album, which contains twelve original songs all written or co-written by Susan, is a testament to Susan's strong songwriting skills. She has collaborated with many of the finest songwriters in Nashville, giving the album a diversity and depth not often found in today's marketplace. Several tracks off "Life Ain't Long Enough" are receiving airplay both in the U.S. and abroad.
