Beginning her musical journey on a dare, Susan has received notable attention with her contemporary pop/rock songs. She's earned comparisons to Annie Lennox, Melissa Etheridge, Grace Slick, Sheryl Crow and Alanis Morissette. She "has clearly been doing her songwriting homework, and never met a hook she didn't like...solid, creative, commercial and instantly memorable songs..." says L.A.s DIY Reporter. Her songs have been featured on MTV Road Rules and on independent films. She has also won several awards both locally and nationally, including Album of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year in the Seattle Area Music awards, Album of the Year in the Los Angeles DIY awards, FEMMUSIC.com's Artist of the Year and she was a finalist in the Rock category for the song "Everything You/Everything Me" in the USA Songwriting Competition. In 2006, Susan moved to Nashville, TN to continue songwriting, however the "When in Rome" principle has re-directed some of her writing style toward country (fuzed with that pop thing).

I'm always working on songwriting. I guess that's the point...to keep working on it, getting better (if you're paying attention) and taking it all in. But if you ask me, I'd say I'm a songwriter, a singer, a painter (with some amazing luck), and open to whatever is next. And not to sound like a personals ad, but I do make the best "happy" salad this side of Mars.
