As a child, she was often chosen for the lead in musicals and studied at Boston Children's Theater. She still dreams of being an actress, but instead brings that passion into every performance. Her dad was so proud he would have her sing whenever company came to their home. He was a strong influence on her life, as evidenced by her song, "Living for Today" (now you have to check that one out, don't you?).
Susan got her first guitar, a Yamaha classical, when she was 12. She traded in her flute for her first acoustic guitar when she was 15, a Yamaha FG580, which has aged beautifully... mainly because it spent many years in the back of the closet as she raised her family. She now mainly plays a Taylor 612CE that was love at first sight. It fits perfectly with her elegant finger-picking style and nicely compliments her unique voice.
Just click on a song and listen... you won't be disappointed!
P.S. Just when you think you're getting to know someone personally through their music you learn a twist... Bourbon Street was co-written with a guy (go figure) and Humble Patience is a song about a beer that used to be brewed by Magic Hat Brewery in Vermont! So... don't read too much into things! ;-)
