Influenced by a rich musical family with gospel and southern roots, growing up on the Olympic Peninsula and living now on the Kitsap Peninsula Susan has developed her own style of northwest songwriting. She creates a unique musical blend with her textured tenor voice and the unusual sound of the Mandola that is all her own. In 2000, Susan and Billy Forrester ( an exsperianced guitarist and moving singer/songwriter made a CD of original songs featuring their duo performance, " Eleven Eleven" . In 2005 Susan did a solo project with her own original songs, a Tom Waits song, and also, two of her Grandparents favorate songs, a Jimmy Rodgers song and an old hymn. That CD is " Into the MIdnight Waltz "and can be perchased at www.cdbaby.com........................
INTO THE MIDNIGHT WALTZ is a mostly live recording and features the other musicians that have come to be steady players in the group that inhances Susan's music.
Carol Anspauh adds strong viberent harmonys, Larry Johnson, Art Hanlon, and Billy Forrester each play their individual accoustic guitar style, Jeff Wittican provides some tastful electric touches, and Liam Gram grounds it all with creative electric fretless bass**********************
I AM PROUD to have been able to do this project with the GREAT PEOPLE that gave of themselves so freely for the sake of a song.... The midnight waltz comes to you in the lonesome times when the muse finds you and takes you for a few turns around the dance floor...may the muse be with you...Susan
