KATSUYA UECHI, SIA RRINCIPAL & EXECUTIVE INSTRUCTOR - Katsuya Uechi arrived in Los Angeles in 1985 as a young graduate of Osaka's renowned Tsuji Culinary Institute. With aspirations to make his mark in this ethnically diverse city, he searched for new ideas to excite the American Sushi scene. Throughout his career, Katsuya championed Sushi cuisine by challenging unprecedented culinary applications to the centuries- old art of Japanese Sushi. His expanding empire of KATSUYA RESTAURANTS continues to set new standards for the industry. KATSUYA UECHI is also the Owner & Executive Chef of the KATSU-YA RESTAURANT GROUP.
