Interests

  • General

Reading, writing (check out my blogs and my livejournal, screen name susiecute34) and politics (liberal democrat) as well as talk radio, favorites being Stephanie Miller, Randi Rhodes, and Mike Malloy. Air America, My friends list explains my interests. Also, check out my blogspot... susiecuteisinthehouse.blogspot.com and my livejournal page... susiecute34.livejournal.com
  • Music

Many and varied. I like dance, club, pop, almost anything... check back and I'll tell you what's downloaded in my Ipod (when I can afford one... lol)
  • Movies

Bend it Like Beckham, Something's Gotta Give, Prime, Rent, Happy Endings, Mamma Mia, Sicko, Fahrenheit 911 (anything by Michael Moore actually), Left of the Dial and Precious.
  • Television

Former TV junkie!!! I can not get enough of the following shows: ER, Friends, NYPD Blue, Homicide:Life on the Street, Mary Tyler Moore, Dick Van Dyke, Rhoda, Phyllis, Bob Newhart Show(Suzanne Pleshette 1937-2008 RIP to the original Susiecutie!) Degrassi (all of the series, past and present) Queer as Folk, L Word, Sopranos, Absolutely Fabulous, French and Saunders, Girls on Top, Vicar of Dibley as well as one guilty pleasure, Gossip Girl. I like most shows not in the mainstream. Especially alternative British Comedy. Keep in mind that none of the shows I like have anything to do with reality TV, in which the person who invented that should be slapped. ... Other shows to watch out for... on MSNBC, Countdown with Keith Olbermann, The Rachel Maddow Show. She takes no prisoners either, almost like me lately. Kicks ass and takes names for effect.
  • Books

Thom Hartmann's Screwed, anything by Al Franken and Sam Seder's FUBAR. Since there's no category for radio, I'll add that here. Randi Rhodes ,Mike Malloy, and Stephanie Miller are the best. I also listen to Michelangelo Signorile, a new addition to the Saturday night lineup on Sirius Left and America Left. Long live XM Satellite Radio and Sirius for broadcasting their shows.
  • Heroes

My parents, Anthony (1933-1996) and Elizabeth (1944-2003). They gave me life and helped make me the person I am today. They were my heart, soul, and inspiration. I miss them dearly and I feel incomplete without them. Another hero, my younger brother Nicky (1978-2009), who never gave up without a fight no matter how difficult the fight was. Always remained positive no matter what.

About me:

The name's Sue... 37, single,STILL NOT LOOKING, just want to find some old friends and maybe make some new ones. Life changes from year to year, even day to day. Nothing stays the same and the people you thought were your friends are only your friends when you do what they want you to do or be. When you learn to stand up for yourself at a possible cost to someone they like who doesn't follow the rules, you quickly learn that they aren't your friends at all. You find out the hard way who they really are. And those actual numbers are few, very few. As a result, you're alone most of the time but you still have your self respect and a conscience. And no regrets. That's why if anyone gets an email from me, the signature line always tells you to never regret anything (and I add, or anyone) that makes you smile.

The Stephanie Miller Show "the bits"

This is one of my favorite shows: If you like what you hear, subscribe to the podcast! Only 4.95 a month if you buy it a year in advance (ding!)

Who I'd like to meet:

Friends, old and new.... I'd also like to meet anyone with similar interests. Politics, social change and anyone who wants to make the world we live in better than it is right now. Equal rights for all, marriage for all (yes to the ignorant people that means gay marriage}. Just think, over 50 years ago, people were segregated according to race, black, white, etc. Today, there are many interracial relationships. They can even marry each other. In some states, marrying outside the race was illegal, sad but true. I'd like to think before the end of my lifetime that same sex couples can have the same rights as the rest of us instead of being allowed to marry only in California (until Nov. 4, the same day we made history by electing Barack Obama, the state made this illegal by passing Prop 8... fight this, people. Equal rights for everyone. Find a protest and go, go, go!), Massachusetts, Connecticut and as of this past Friday April 3, 2009, Iowa (Go Iowa!) and Tuesday April 7, Vermont and as of December 15, Washington DC. Civil unions allowed in other parts of the country and it being totally not allowed in other states. In addition, one important thing you need to know about me. My family and my very few friends mean the world to me. I'm an aunt to 20 nephews and nieces (yeah... finally figured it out!). I'm not one to conform to other people's expectations and I'm constantly testing the limits. And if crossed, expect payback at some point. I don't forget when screwed with. Just a little bit of brutal honesty. Sorry but wanted that known up front.
