   About Sutura
Vicki Burke, who is better known as a saxophonist for Bristol bands Flash Harry and Up, Bustle and Out, bought a Harp in 2003 and decided to go acoustic! Writing her own material she teamed up with singer Lisa Marie Berning, the duo soon became a four-piece with the addition of two highly sought-after musicians: Mike Hoddinott on percussion and Richie Blake on bass.
Sutura had an excellent first season playing the Bath Fringe, Crawley and Priddy Folk Festivals to name a few and have been regulars on the Bristol scene for over a year now.
Described as: “breathtaking, beautiful music that will send shivers down your spine and goose bumps to your toes......the set consists of passionate, original tunes with depth, bags of of melody and catchy choruses. Hearing is believing!”.........

"An album of attractive, gentle songs, superbly played and really well produced and arranged" "Lisa Marie Berning has a really beautiful singing voice"
Tony Slinger, Venue Magazine ****

“It's no mean feat to move from sax to harp but Vicki Burke pulls it off beautifully, the music from Sutura stayed with me long after the CD had finished.”
Keith Warmington, BBC Radio Bristol

"I receive about a dozen albums a week, (yet still) Sutura's album gave me 'the hairs on the back of the neck moment' the first time I played it, beautiful, relaxing, stunning." Mike Ganley, Swindon FM

“Sutura’s music is beautiful, uplifting, and full of life!” “your music is a gift to all of us.” Laurie DesJardins, KVMR Nevada City, USA

“'To Music' is very listenable and I find many of the arrangements lush, but not over produced. The lyrics are well supported by the music, particularly the beautifully evocative harp.”
Bruce Cameron. Radio 2MCE FM Australia

David Franks: Walkabouts Verse

David Franks: Walkabouts Verse

Jun 9 2009 10:49 AM

(Hi: enjoyed my visit.)

After you've finished here, you may like to hear this poem sung on myspace...

Poem 2 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse
(please see my blog):
WALKABOUT WITH MY PEN

Once drove an old sedan, up north,
From a place in Sydney to Cairns;
Then to Kuranda I went forth,
By train, to look without set plans.

I browsed through the trendy market,
With fresh fruits of tropical kind;
Walked to the creek through lush thicket -
Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.

I dined in a scenic cafe;
Then, outside, as I wrote for yen,
Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey,
You go walkabout with your pen.”

Request or question, I don’t know -
Assured voices, elderly men.
That’s now several years ago,
And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.

Haven't stopped listening to the CD yet. It's an absolute treat. Particularly love the harmonies on "When"! Everybody should buy one if they know what's good fer 'em.

Hey guys.
Thanks for the add.
Sounding "Well Groovy" here.
Wicked to find you on the space.
And who knows, maybe the "Graceland Mafia" will have more need of our services in the future.
Take care.
