| General | Many varied interests, most of them in creative areas, but my 17 yr. old daughter is my first priority... Outside of what she is up to, my focus has returned to the music field. I had a lengthy lay-off from playing and am now getting back into it. Though I really love bass, acoustic 6-string has taken over in a big way. I revel in classic rock and blues. Many thanks to MaryBeth Maes for her support and encouragement, and to Heidi-Jo Hanson for "pushing the hell out of me LOL"... you two are incredible!...I have recently been invited to be part of a group playing 60's and 70's songs. I will be doing lead vocals, backing vocals, acoustic rhythm, harmonica, bass, and some keys with a great bunch of guys from Northstar Music Center who are real veterans of the music world... so look for "Cornerstone" out there! Between the six of us, four sing so the harmonies are outrageously strong! Glad you thought of me, Bill! :-) Other areas of interest are cooking/baking, camping (just call me Smokey LOL) kayaking in calm waters, costuming (sewing), oil painting, sketching, not that I get much time to do any of that these days. I am a real "hands-on" kind of person, open to trying most anything and love to experience/share in other people's interests as well. | | Music | I enjoy most venues, but am partial to classic rock, acoustic rock/folk, rockin' blues, etc. (NO rap!!) Life without music would be .. err.. well.. death I guess. Beatles, Stones, Heart, Jethro Tull, Tom Petty, Led Zeppelin, Neil Young...and the list goes on. Local favorites: Charlie Farren, Dave Hull, Brian Maes, MaryBeth Maes, Beatlejuice, The Fools, and the up and coming "Calling Aviv" (formerly known as "Zephyr") out of Wakefield, among others. | | Movies | Too many to list...but the latest one I saw in a theatre was "Twilight"... gives new meaning to the phrase "Bite Me" LOL | | Television | Animal Planet (I want a meerkat), The Learning Channel, Discovery Channel, History Channel, something forensic in nature, or biographical pieces and the occasional concert on TV with the best seat in the theatre- my sofa. I have to include OLD Sat. Nite Live, The Three Stooges and Monty Python's Flying Circus. | | Books | Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Restaurant at the End of the Universe... very funny stuff; Kitchen Confidential, and selected biographies are some of my favs, and recently "Twilight" which my daughter encouraged me to read. Woot! |
