Svante Sjöblom is a veteran on the Scandinavian blues scene. The past six-seven years this brilliant singer and guitar player has toured all over Scandinavia and played clubs and most of the major blues festivals. He's also received prestigious awards like the Fjellis Award, the Junior Blues Prize at Åmål Blues Festival and the John Jackson Scholarship. Svante Sjöblom was born 1984. »I Guess My Troubles Just Begun« is the debut album by Svante Sjöblom. - For years everybody's been asking for an album, but I didn't want to record until I felt ready, says Svante. Svante Sjöbloms music is based on the pre-war music of the American south. Blues of course, but also old time country, gospel and ragtime. In his record collection you will find names like Skip James, Blind Willie McTell, Charley Patton and Mississippi John Hurt... Svante has learned his trade by listening to the old time masters. Hours and hours of practicing and as many live gigs as possible have made this young talent an extremely skilled musician. For years he's been living and breathing blues and now he's made the music his own. »I Guess My Troubles Just Begun« gives us a pretty accurate picture of Svante Sjöblom of today. We meet the solo performer with his acoustic guitar and vocals and the band leader who inspires his fellow musicians in The Sailors to great things. But first and foremost we meet the talented songwriter, the amazingly brilliant guitar player and the very soulful singer Svante Sjöblom. And there's more to come. I guess his troubles just begun...
