.......... .. Born in 1973, he studied jazz piano at the Folkwang Academy Essen from 1997 to 2002. From 2004 on he has continued to study jazz piano and composition with Richie Beirach at the Academy for Theatre and Music Leipzig which he will finish in July 2008 with masters degree. .. .. In terms of harmony Sven mainly continues two streams of tradition in his compositions: the american modal and the european modal jazz tradition. In his arrangements he integrates anything that music history has to offer, from baroque, romantic or folk music to pop, just to name a few. He improvises in a narrative style, dividing the improvisations into micro-chapters by using different kinds of recurring motifs and registrations . His strength is his beautiful and clear sound on the piano and the use of various types of touch. .. .. His actual album - The Onlyest - has been released by Acoustical Mind Records in February 2008 and is available on www.amazon.de . .. .. Besides playing with his own trio, he works regularly with Burkhard Wolters (a german classical and jazz guitar player), the Joyful Voices (a gospel choir from Moers) and the CMP (a christian music project from Velbert which plays pop and jazz). Furthermore he works as a piano teacher at the local music school of Bergkamen where he amongst other things leads the bigband and prepares students for the study at music academys.

Bio:
