The Happening on July 4th at Godrevy's Sandsifter is a special event where the worlds of music, art and music will converge. With a stunning live music lineup of acoustic sets from G Love, Mason Jennings, Matt Costa, Tristan Prettyman, Neil Halstead and local Ruarri Joseph, plus film previews from some of the top surf/street filmmakers and an a broad selection of photography, mixed media and paintings the event will be a rare treat. Jack Johnson, the Hawaiian born musician, filmmaker and surfer has announced details of headline shows at Watergate Bay, Newquay on Saturday 5th July and Sunday 6th july. Groove Armada have just been confirmed as headliners for the Friday (August 8th)and The Pigeon Detectives for the Saturday (August 9th) of Rip Curl Boardmasters Unleashed music festival. Also spread over the two stages so far there is the Zutons, Audio Bullys, Morcheeba, The Futureheads, Mystery Jets, Gallows, Ghost Of A Thousand and loads more (check the blog for full lineup). Latest names added are Reverend And The Makers, The Young Knives, Cage The Elephant, Jersey Budd and The Holloways. There is going to be a third stage, hosted by monthly clubnight 'The Tuck Shop', putting on the best of local bands. Xavier Rudd, known for his virtuoso ability to play aboriginal instruments as well as lap guitar, foot boxes and harmonica, returns to the Princess Pavilion in Falmouth on August 20th. Read more info here.
