The crashing together of Psychedelic and Bubblegum factories, propped to one side of the Garage scene. It’s guitar-based, melodic, crisp, precise, with jangly guitars and chiming chords and harmonies. Swagg plays a range: from boppy catchy pop to a few darker, acoustic ballads.
Swagg is sunshiney jangle pop, or "chime" pop.
Pop takes two forms. One is the hard-driving, sanitized and squeaky powered pop song. The other is the plaintive love song with melodies like meat-hooks. Whichever, all Power Pop songs are simply catchy the first time. There are few classic Power Pop albums. They come in singles, they leave your ears ringing and your legs wobbly. Music to dance to. Music to make out to. Music that cannot be ignored. Loved by Madison Avenue, the polar opposite of Disco. If you don’t love it now, you will. You have no defense.
Swagg is a Brooklyn-based jangle-pop band, doing a mix of originals and covers. Nadine Miller is lead singer and songwriter.
