Swamp Angel Road was formed by two musicians/songwriters meeting up to collaborate on a new project. Doug Theiner has years of experience in the music performing and recording business. He was previously the lead guitarist of the mid 80's hard rock/metal group "RAVAGE". The album "Wrecking Ball" (Shrapnel Records) sold well in the U.S. and internationally, receiving critical acclaim and lots of airplay. Doug has a great ability for writing some rockin' music. Now in Alaska, Doug met up with James Summers, a solo artist with a knack for writing melodic rock songs and terrific lyrics. James has played around the Alaska scene for some time. When the two met up with Doug's harder rock edge, and James' melodic ability, they decided to form a new band. They recruited Duane Herd on bass guitar. Duane has played with a number of big Alaska bands, including Synergy and Bad Candy, among many others. Duane is a terrific asset since he can play bass and lead guitar, as well as drums, and he has a terrific voice and adds a huge sound with his harmonies. Doug Herschbach was brought in to complete the line-up on drums. Doug's been playing drums since he was a kid, and started playing professionally just out of high school. He's been a member of a number of bands around Alaska, including Steelhead, The Misfitz, Murel Kidd & The Attitude, and others. Doug can play any style of music, but is at his best when he's rockin' out! Swamp Angel Road will be playing statewide around Alaska, and hope to finish recording an album of all original music in the near future! Hope to see you all out there!
