"Against backgrounds of soccer playing and children on trampolines, Latino farm workers tell us their lives: the tireless toil for low pay, the constant fight against loneliness, and the struggle of keeping together the ties of family in the face of constant relocation. It's a study of the American Dream, and it's a much-needed splash of cold water in your face. "-- Drew Gemmer, The Portland Mercury
"... an aesthetically pure documentary in the verite tradition... Immokalee U. S. A. boasts a fascinating cast of characters, from Panchito, the lonely romantic who plucks his guitar with a weary hand, to the heartbreaking Mateo Diego, whose grasp on reality seems to fade with each succeeding interview. What is our collective role in this chain of servitude?, the film seems to ask us, providing an opening for self-reflection rather than didactic sermonizing. "-- Maine International Film Festival

Hey Joe, I just watched LOL, really liked it. Though I think you perhaps placed too much of the blame on these technologically advanced times we're living in, rather than the people involved. To some extent computers, mobiles etc. have exacerbated the isolation between people, though I would guess wives and mistresses in ancient times got pissed off with their partners for ignoring their feelings. Anyway, keep up the good work. Looking forward to seeing more of your stuff.
For some reason, I'm quite comfortable with this picture:
Haha. Hey man, great hanging out with you at Sundance. I enjoyed the first episode of Butterknife! Look forward to seeing you soon on the set of St. Nick!
