omggg do you still have them?!
  • Nov 7 2009 4:16 AM

lol. Calm down tiger. I in no way was arguing. Was just simply saying that there are other software programs to explore, like Maya. Didn't mean to strike a nerve. HA. I've been working with 3D modeling for almost 4 years now and simply was saying there are more doors to the 3D world than just 3Dmax. One of my 3 prof. was a lead programmer for Everquest and has worked with EA Games and NASA and they all use Maya. Not saying that 3DSMAX is not applicable for gaming. It is definitely used for gaming, Blizzard for instance almost exclusively uses Max, but they also require you to know Maya :) Can't have one without the other in the industry. They both have their perks and until you dabble in both, you can judge the other. I honestly wasn't in any way trying to "fight" about anything, didn't mean to burt your e-bubble. Happy modeling. *shrugs*
  • Nov 7 2009 1:24 AM

Maya is the most widely used game modeling software :) Not to mention 3Dsmax was bought by autodesk, the creators of Maya :D
  • Nov 7 2009 1:08 AM

which Maya did you get? I love the shit out of it. I personally suggest Maya08 09 and 10 both dont have the support and plug ins that 08 has. And there really isnt anything super awesome worth upgrading too to leave the stability of 08. :D
  • Nov 7 2009 12:55 AM

Honestly, from my experiences.. Maya is a lot more user friendly to model in than max. Texturing however... haha :)
