Sweat is a Saint Petersburg-based kick ass rock'n'roll band formed in 2006 by new yorker siger/songwriter/guitarist Alex K. Inflenced by the likes of KISS, Stones, AC/DC, Cheap Trick, Iggy Pop, MC5, Hendrix, 70's - early 80's "new wave" of british heavy metal, Spinal Tap of course and many more, Sweat deliveres raw, straight ahead loud pure rock with a bit of early metal feel.

Ruffo:
"Me and Spacey were classmates since 2d grade and
played in a bunch of bands together, switching instruments - we both play drums, guitar, sing
and write songs, so sometimes it'd be me on drums and Spacey on vocals and sometimes the
other way around. We also wrote together.
After school I immigrated to the States, settled in New York and played drums with everybody
We got more or less successful with the band called Sticky, playing gigs at CBGBs, Limelight
Coney Island High, L'Amour with people like Jayne County and Ace Frehley. But after a while I
realized I wanted to play and sing my own music - I had to get away from the NY scene which
seemed to repeat itself in every way. I moved back to St Pete's took a break, wrote a few
songs, got my friends to play with me and off we went playing gigs.
Some say what we do is not original, but i think they miss the point - we got a thing or two
to say with the lyrics that is our personal point of view and I feel the great chemistry
between band members which is, I think, where true originality comes from in general. Even
though what we play can be described as pure straight ahead rock, our influences range from
disco to opera to soul music to eighties new wave to "New Wave Of British Heavy Metal", 70's
punk and everything else with talent. All we want to do is to play the kind of music we always
dreamed of playing as kids and on top of it create a kind of rock'n'roll circus of our own"
