About me: Born Albert Chambers jr. on Oct 5th 1967, the son of Albert Chambers Senior, a Bebop singer for a vocal group based out of Boston Mass. named The Dappers (Epic Records, Peacock Records).Albert was raised in a little town called Lachenaie east of Montreal. Albert had the best of both worlds being subjected to his father’s love of R&B. Stevie Wonder, Al Green and The Temptations and the Montreal Radio play of contemporary rock. “Later on this helped me when playing bass on rock gigs one weekend doing Hendrix, ZZ Top to Pearl Jam tunes, then jumping from the next night playing R&B favorites.”
In the late 80’s. Albi found himself working in all facades of the music industry. From co-hosting a Local Montreal T.V. show in the late 80’s called Rock Stage, Record Retail in N.Y.C. and Montreal, Music instrument Retail at Steve’s Music, and a lots of Bass, Vocal, and Guitar session work for TV shows such as, Are You Afraid Of The Dark, Arthur, Spaced Out, Night of the Demons and countless Commercials for successful, Emmy nominated TV music writer Raymond Fabi. Since then for the past ten years Albert has been running and operating what is now known to be a first call rehearsal studios called (Studio Base Bin) in Montreal. Because of the success of the studios, this has given Albert more free time to dedicate to songwriting and producing, Albert created Sweet Albi Productions for independent and signed acts. Albert has also been featured recently in Proffesional sound magazine,Featured in (Canadian Musician magazine) along side of some music heavy weights, such as Michael McCarty (Sara Mclaughlin, Randy Bachman and many others giving tips on how to avoid the pitfalls of the music industry. In addition to this Albert has also just written a showcasing article for Muzik Etc magazine.
Albi has had the chance to work along side some very interesting people such as, Gary Sinice (Forest Gump, Apollo 13), Queen Latifah, Moist (Canadian multi-platinum band), and David Usher. Albert also played bass & guitar on a theme song for the Cartoon called Buster (Featuring Wyclef Jean on vocals) Albi continues to do production work /or write for people such as Amy Powers (Barbra Streisand), Wayne Tennant, Stone Melodies, Coral Egan, Simple Plan,Coles Whalen, Zane,CCK , etc. When producing a band, my objective is to get them ready for radio. If you want to hear more of his work. Check Out some of Sweet Albi’s friends (Counter Clock, Wayne Tennant, Zane, Melissa Goyette)
