To give you all a brief summary of our roots and influences: Sweet Alice draws heavily from the (primarily) British blues-rock of the 1960s/'70s (Zeppelin, Sabbath, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, Sir Lord Baltimore) in addition to the hard rock (Def Leppard, Fastway) and postpunk/1st wave (Joe Jackson, Squeeze, Graham Parker) of the 1980s, all of this being supplemented by a jam band (Allman Brothers, Grateful Dead, Widespread Panic, Glass Harp) aesthetic.
Many other bands are out there for the chicks, the drugs, for spreading a message, or for "being scene"... we just want to rule the world.
Sweet Alice is a young band out of Aston, PA that is hellbent for leather on bringing back hard and heavy rock and roll music back to Delaware County. With a fierce twin lead guitar attack and a rhythm section harkening back to the days of Jones/Bonham and Entwhisle/Moon, Sweet Alice will stop at nothing to bring their instantly recognizable brand of hard rock to the masses. The multifaceted technical prowess of guitarist Colin Ainsworth and the raw feeling and energy of coguitarist Mike Volpe is backed by the booming bass work of Chris Hegland and the ever inventive, pounding drums delivered by Tom Finn. Sweet Alice must be heard to be believed, sporting an ever growing library of originals and covers of both rock stanards and obscure, lost gems that have come across their ears. The band is a force to be reckoned with, and will be invading a concert hall in your town soon!
